If you purchased a extended warranty which one did you go with?

I did Adrian’s out of Michigan a couple days ago. I think it is Chryslerwarranty direct.com . Very easy. Took the 8 years 75k for I think it was $1365. Two days later it showed up on my mopar.com site. May not be the cheapest but it has to be darn close. It was a seamless process.

Honestly, they are ALL genuine MOPAR extended warranties. Every price quoted is within $50 of each other.
Zeigler has had a presence in the forums back to 2018 when I joined. A few other dealers have gotten into the esp sales as well. The margin is razor thin.

The contact will appear in on the mopar site as soon as the selling dealer registers it. Zeigler does mail you a copy as well.

You know it’s kind of funny how some dealers work to ensure you never buy a truck from them again. This extended warranty discussion reminds me of when I bought this truck (my one and only RAM) i Negotiated the price like usual and went through the obligatory (and always painful) finance closing where they try to add back as much money as they can. This time after I said no at least 100 times the finance guy gives me my final cost print out and it was exactly what the original, bloated listed price was. they had added back every conceivable extended warranty service possible, plus some others. The same extended mopar warranty was $3995! Needless to say I had my usual meltdown and eventually left with my negotiated price. I wonder how many times that tactic works for the dealer. It’s sure a plus for forums like this that help steer folks in making an occasional sound decision.

SOLUTION! Never buy any add-ons in the finance office, NEVER. and surely not an extended warranty!!!
I wish everyone knew about much cheaper online options.

Sales process usually goes pretty good for me, but I get pissed off in the finance office. Just like they mark up your finance rate, and then blame the finance provider.

I don't really know much about extended warranties and I'm having trouble finding the specific answers.

I'll probably be getting my truck from MD in early June. An Extended warranty is worth considering, especially with the EcoDiesel. I can easily see myself putting 15-20,000mi per year, so If I get it, I'm looking at: 6-yr/85k, 7-yr/100k, or 8-yr/125k w/$200ded, which is a pretty good chunk of change. I plan on long-term ownership of this vehicle.

Questions:
1. Should I purchase the warranty through MD, how are their prices compared to Zeigler? I wouldn't mind wrapping the price into the financed amount.
2. If not at purchase, when should I consider purchasing the Extended warranty? Immediately or wait towards the end of the factory warranty?
3. Does the Mopar warranty override (or cover more than) the factory warranty, if I'm still in the factory warranty period?
4. The Maxcare warranty seems to be about $850/yr (after year 4), plus $200/claim. I really don't know if that's worth it when I do 90% of my own repairs. (except major Engine/Trans teardowns).
5. Granted I'm only concerned with the engine/trans, I wonder if the Powertrain Care Plus makes more sense than the Maxcare...
6. If I sell or wreck the truck, can I expect a partial refund?
Thanks

Your questions are similar to mine. Doesn't the EcoDiesel come with 100k on the engine? If so and the engine is your concern(mine too), then aren't we paying $2k for an extra 25K miles?
-Still figuring it out too

When I was finishing up with MD, I was not offered the mopar warranty. They had another warranty which was only offered for 6 years vs 8 that I was looking for. They did say I can extend 1 year at a time when it comes due, but could not offer me a price on that extra year. There are good and bad to both warranties. Good thing, you can purchase the Ziegler warranty after the fact if you can't decide. Obviously it will not be wrapped with your financing in one package, but you have to make sure you are getting what you need for your situation.

lots of posters are going here
Zeigler is the only one I'd buy from. Bob Cline has always offered forum discounts. staff is friendly and helpful.
and they don't hassle you if you need to cancel for some reason.

NOTE! Prices are going up May 1, 2022! Unknown which plans will increase of how much at this point.

the $365 off discount @ Zeigler still works! Promo = "PAYINFULL".

Online purchase requires a credit card. they do have a finance option, but you don't get the hefty discount you would otherwise.

I went the lazy route and got my warranty through the dealer. I'm in Canada, they called it the "protection package" and I got 6 years 16000km (100000mi). It came in a package for $3800 Canadian. About $3000 USD. Included in that package was the extended warranty, lifetime undercoating and rust protection (I live in salt land) all oil changes/tire rotations and "courtesy inspections" in that 6 years. It also included the tire and rim warranty, and unlimited key fob replacements for damage or loss. I was able to roll that into the 0% financing as well. I could have shopped around and got it all cheaper I'm sure, but I paid the little bit extra for the convenience. What is an extra 3800 on a truck that already costs almost 90K Canadian.

Haha it did not. I did some quick calculations at the time. Oil change and tire rotations with synthetic oil are $100 a pop at the dealer, minimum. That's $1200 there for 2 a year. I'm getting too old to do them myself outside in Canadian winters LOL. The rust protection package is another $1200, and comes with full corrosion protection warranty for the 6 years. So we are at $2400. Only an extra $1400 for key fob replacement, tire and rim warranty and bumper to bumper warranty coverage for 160k. 0% interest, unlike if I were to put it on my credit card. The price seems steep, but when broken down, it's not terrible.
