Looking for some ideas for kid proofing my new limited interior. Will have car seats in regularly.

Anyone have good ideas for seat covers and other accessories that I can install to keep the truck in tip top condition for an extra few years?

Trust me, I plan to use the truck like a truck. But if there are some easy and inexpensive things I can do immediately I would really appreciate it!

I feel you pain. I used neoprene covers in my truck and my wife’s. I cut two little holes to connect the belt for the seat.

Maybe get one of those back seat covers for dogs on Amazon. If they spill chocolate milk or something you’re never going to get it out of the perforated leather.
Unless you're on a long road trip, there is no good reason to let the little nose miners have any food or drinks in your truck. I do like the idea of the back seat cover to keep all of their boogers contained.

Trust me, we're going to be on a strict no food program in the truck. Boogers are much harder to contain.

You from Omaha? Could always get the interior coated to protect it. I have a 7 year warranty on my interior from stains, rips, tears, and discoloration

We utilized marine vinyl from Joanne Fabrics. It’s $19.99 a yard so is relatively cheap. We put it in the Longhorn so I folded it in half with the polyester on the inside (doubled it up) so the vinyl side was against the leather seat and the car seat. The doubling helped protect the leather on the Longhorn seat and any messes were easy to wipe up.

It comes in a variety of colors that match the interior (black or brown) and is very, very durable. The plastic car set never damaged the leather and they looked like new after three years of grandkids partying in the back seat.

No food and drink is a good start. Their feet are gonna play hell with the leather and the seats will make indentations in the leather after a short period. Get the back seat covers from amazon and also put down something under them to lessen the indents. Take the seats out every few weeks and let the seats return to normal. Good luck!

Do you have a utility bed, could always strap their car seats down in the bed 😂
All joking aside, just get a cover for the seat and for your front seat backs.
My kids are teens and I still have a strict no shoe on policy, little buggers always putting their feet where they don't belong and with shoes on it will scratch/mar everthing up.

I used a couple of these and they were nice, sturdy, tough, stain resistant, good coverage BUT you have to put something undneath it, like a towel or something, otherwise it'll press a pattern into your seat.

Munchkin Brica Elite Seat Guardian Car Seat Protector, Crash Test Approved, Dark Grey, 1 Pack https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00B7M7...t_i_KZ5QHER8B3FKT7M5S4Y0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I got ram boxes so maybe I can just haul them around in there. 😉
Good ideas!

I had my coatings done at Owners Pride, but I wasn't too happy with the ceramic coating application. Other than a piece of paper for interior warranty, couldn't tell if they coated the interior. But as long as they claim to have done it, I will be sure to utilize the claim if zi find anything.

I would recommend Exotic Detail for exterior coatings.

I appreciate your stance, but kids will wear at that resolve incessantly!

My kids have been out of car seats for a long time, but we had mats that go under the car seats and they did a great job catching spills and crumbs, etc.
Something like this (not an endorsement - just an example) https://www.amazon.com/Brica-Seat-Guardian-Car-Protector/dp/B00B7M7BKW/

Scotchguard your fabrics and leather cleans up great.

I went with weather tech to try to help protect the interior of my Laramie from my 2 little nightmares. Ages 5 and 1 for a few more weeks. We had the cheap walmart seat protectors in my old Silverado and they were ok. Once I saw the, new to market, WeatherTech car seat protectors though I knew they would do a helluva job. The car seat protectors have side flaps on them to help catch anything they might toss over the side. They work well and give that extra bit of coverage. If you have someone often riding ***** in the back you will probably need to trim the interior flaps; so far my wife has not complained about them for the times when she has had to get back there and help with something. The outside flaps work really well for catching stuff and not have it actually make it all the way to the floor.

After we turn the little one's car seat to forward facing I will be picking up a second seat back protector. The one in front of my 5 year old has been doing a pretty good job of keeping his muddy little feet off of the seat back that he insists on using as a foot prop.
