I just bought a 2019 Ram Laramie Off-Road group and took it to an Intoxalock service center to have an IID device installed (past mistake). I left it with the service center to have the ignition interlok installed. I got a call from the technician saying he couldn't get the truck to start and needed my other key. I show up, again, and give him the other key and of coarse the truck wont start. Another note, the key fob will not lock / unlock doors and just doesnt seem to work. When i get into the truck the initial image on the instrument cluster screen is stuck on the " press pedal and push button to start" image or message, whatever you want to call it. When i press the start button without depressing the brake pedal, it will not switch between the different power modes ( acc / on / run). I am hoping to find a solution before I have to tow the car to the dealership and have them take a look.
So far I have found online some possible solutions that I will try today when I head back to the technician.
1. check the ignition fuse (F24)
2. check to see if the truck is in park by trying the truck into neutral with the lanyard pull method.
3. check battery terminals to see if anything is loose and checking the ground strap.
4. test the battery to see if it is bad.
I called a dealer yesterday to see if he had any solutions. The mechanic said it could be in anti-theft lockdown mode and to wait 4 hours before trying to start again. Has anyone here ever heard of that?
I will greatly appreciate and all suggestions and or solutions so I can drive my new, used truck. Just got the truck 3 days ago.
