Ordered a swingcase for my Laramie, only worry is drilling the holes into the bed. Anyone here have a swingcase? How do you like it?

I like the one I have installed. A bit pricy, but good to hold my hitch ratchet straps and a few other things. The self tapping areas went right in through my spray in liner with no issues. I have heard some say that the mount broke with some heavy off-roading, but so far so good for me.

I have one on the driver’s side. I like it a lot for keeping ratchet straps, tie downs, small tool bag, etc. the self tapping bolts went right in no problem. I also have a bed rug liner.

I just installed mine this weekend. Install went pretty easy. I predrilled the holes and used a socket and ratchet to tighten the self tapping screws. Mine first impression was how much smaller the storage space is than I thought it would be. It really doesn't take up much space in the bed so I might get one for the other side. I just put my tie down ratchets in them with some gloves.
If and when I do get another one I will probably put my hitch ball, pin etc in it.

Did your truck bed have the dimples to help you locate the spot to drill your holes? In the install videos I saw, they all had the dimples, but my Laramie bed doesn't have it

I didn't notice any dimples. Mine has a spray in bed liner though.

I had a pair in my 2012 Lone Star - loved 'em! I was hoping to get the flat universal tool kit out of the back seat area, but there was no way it would fit in the boxes, so I just had soft things (like straps, tow ropes, gloves, jumper cables, a bag of rags, etc.) stashed in them. When I had to haul something big, just slipped 'em off the pegs and tossed 'em into the back seat area - no sweat. My only gripe with them now would be losing the functionality of the bed lights because they'd pretty much cover them up. The trailing edge of the Extang tonneau cover I had prevented the lids from opening all the way because even when swung 'em all the way open, they still didn't quite clear the bed cover frame - the newer sectional hard covers would make that a lot easier just by flipping open the rear section to open the Swing Cases. All-in-all, I like 'em.

I have both driver and passenger side and I love them. Perfect for tools, tie downs, fuel additives, etc. Easy install. Even with the 6” lift on the truck, the boxes are easily accessible

Did you mount the brackets 4" above the bed floor? Sounds like you have mounted them too high. Mine clears my bed cover easily..

I followed the directions for mounting, which I believe actually used one existing hole on each side (the rest had to be drilled). They only had about an inch of clearance from the bottom of the boxes to the floor/tail gate when in-place. They would swing in and out with the cover on quite freely, actually. The lids just couldn't open all the way because of the back corners of the boxes were still somewhat under the edge of the bed cover - they opened 'enough,' but still hit the bed cover. Like I said, it was an Extang soft tonneau (which I believe the rear cross bar sat a bit further back on the tail gate than many of the sectional hard covers that are more popular today, like the BAKFlip, et al).

I have an Undercover Flex - which is just like the BAKFlip MX4, and I'm pretty sure the leading edge doesn't ride as far over the lip of the tailgate as the old Extang I had. Glad you like your BAKFlip and Swing Cases!
