I have a 2019 ram 1500 sport , it has 22' 6 bolt rims. I want to get separate winter rims and tires, but I don't want to put 22' winters on, was wondering whats the smallest size rim I am able to put on , I had 17' winters on my 17 ram 1500 with stock 20's. If anyone has any info that could help me out I would appreciate it.

I believe 18" is the smallest you can go due to the caliper and rotor sizes, also be careful of backspacing because not all 18" wheels will work. I know for Method wheels for example, they need at least a -12 off-set to fit in 18" size. Check with your local tire shop, they should have the data for correct fitment.
You can also buy a set of factory 18" take-offs on Craigslist.

Op I would suggest an oem set of 18” wheels paired with oem sized tires. Depending on where you live I have a set you could try a wheel and see what you think.

Bighorn 18" OEM, guys swap them out all the time. Be patient, plenty out there on ebay, craigslist or place a want to buy on the Buy and Sell here.
I have a 2020 ram sport and just put on 18”rims and 275/65r18 winter tires - tires are cooper snow claw LT’s. You have to be careful when downsizing to 18” rims on the 2020 sport. Not all 18’s clear the calipers. The rims I got which are a direct OEM fit are the replika r220’s

I was actually looking at the R220's in 20". Your truck looks good with those. My sport is black so I can imagine it looking just as slick.
I run the OEM 22” rims in the summer - see photo. Downsizing to 18” for winter tires is the best for this truck in the winter - you want more rubber than rim for a winter tire. The ride is perfect.

I just ran in to this problem. I ordered 18x9.5 with a +12 offset Black Rhino Chambers from Discount Tire. All of the fitment guides said they would fit, including Discount Tire shop's system. They installed them and they turned out to be just a few millimeters off so the front calipers make contact with the inside of the wheel. Any idea on how I can be sure the next wheels I order will actually fit? I want to stay with 18s for the side wall height.

your calibers are touching the lip i believe oem rims are 18x8. + 19 offset
trx takes offs fit and they are + 19 but they are 18x9 so i think that extra half inch is why they dont fit

New guy here. I'm looking a used 2021 1500 with 22" stock wheels. I want to get a set of 18" winter wheels which is suggested here, but I don't hear anyone talking about having to recalibrate speedo and sensors when switching back and forth. I did see discussions in other threads about aftermarket tuners and such, but some reported issues with parking sensors and Nav after calibration. I don't want to have to have the dealer do it twice a year. Seems like my only option is run a 22" winter tire. There is a guy on marketplace selling a set with bridgestone duelers, but doesn't seem prudent to run a 22" winter wheel. Ideas?

There have been other threads about this. All OEM Ram 1500 DT 18 inch wheels will fit any model Ram 1500 DT (not sure about TRX though). But only some of the aftermarket 18 inch wheels will work. The tolerance between the wheel and front calipers is pretty tight. I've heard of a list of compatible 18 inch aftermarket wheels that someone posted here a couple years ago, but I have better things to do than spend hours searching for that LOL. Especially since I'm not looking for wheels myself.
You only need to recalibrate if you are changing the diameter of the tires. Wheel size is irrelevant. Assuming the truck you're looking at has stock sized tires installed (285/45/22), the equivalent 32 inch diamter 18 inch tire size is 275/65/18. You won't need to recalibrate the speedo if you go with that size. Even if the truck has a non-stock size tire, as long as you stick with the same diameter tires you won't need to mess with the speedo calibration. You can use any number of online tire size calculators to compare tire sizes. I use this one...

As said by mikeru82 you don’t need to recalibrate if you stick with the same size tire.
As far as the tire pressure sensors you can buy a tool off of amazon for $12 and do that yourself when you switch your wheel sets. It’s extremely simple and only takes a couple minutes

I have a car with winter wheels that are a size smaller than stock and there is not much room, which causes them to be frozen up on cold mornings. Real pain. I have 275/60r20's that are slightly taller than stock...give me a taller sidewall with same width.

We get snow and slush, if there's anything left in the wheels when the car is parked overnight, it freezes. Only issue with the stock wheels, is that it causes a misbalance and a speed wobble, but when the rotors and calipers are too close to the wheel they get stuck. Also with the salt and sand used in the roads here, it wears out the rotors really quick. More space there is between the calipers and wheel there is for the winter, the better. If you don't live anywhere cold and snowy, no issue.
