OK, for any and all of you out there that ordered the Trailer Tow Package and needed/wanted the TTPMS....if your POC has the version B (and even some that don't might be switched)....I received a communication directly from RAM that it IS a supplier issue that it's been temporarily removed from the truck. Supposedly it is both the wiring harness in the truck AND the instrument cluster that are lacking and they can't get the correct parts from the supplier at this time. It was made clear to me it will NOT be retrofittable later after-the-fact. I was advised to cancel my order and wait until it becomes available again and/or as soon as supply can be re-instated the feature will be added back to the trucks going down the line at that time.

It's very disappointing for me but I'm not in the position to cancel my order at this time as I've already turned my key fobs over for the 2020 and nursing the old Mercury Mariner along for the time being hoping it doesn't die on me until the new truck arrives.

I was told RAM is doing EVERYTHING they can do to keep the assembly lines running to full capacity and try to get trucks to all of us as well as dealers that are DESPERATE for inventory to sell and so subsequently some hard decisions are being made feature-wise (or lack thereof) to keep lines moving.

Just FYI for those of you that this matters to such as myself.....I guess I'll cross my fingers by the time mine is built they're able to source components again and/or that we find this is doable later with Alfa-OBD or something of that nature. (Or sub-harness, module, etc.)

😔🙁
Reviewing my POC, I ordered/order was accepted on 6/21/21 and I do not have A or B on mine, just Trailer Tow Group. Did you specifically order B? It's crazy, because the TTPMS is not something I particularly need and I'm under the impression I don't have. If I could trade with you, I would. Aren't there 3rd party solutions out there at least?

This just popped up on their Facebook page. Looks like production has started back up, or will be starting by Saturday again.

Not only is it overtime, thats alot of paid overtime. Usually, it's one shift, but all 3 shifts are running. This looks promising.

2022 Ram 1500 Big horn Back country (D status)

2016 Dodge Charger scat pack and my wife 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara (2.5" rc lift with 35" duratracs)

That’s exactly what I was thinking too!

"Moper Insiders said it got word from Ram dealers that any 2022 pickup orders already received will be changed if necessary to reflect the new trim organization."

This is the important part he was referring to.
So for example if you ordered a 21' w/night edition and were switched to a 22' you'll get the new tech if any or i think i saw now a tonneau cover? If that's the case i wont be so upset about the wait.

My last POC was 8/30, after the date of that article, so I am guessing RAM did not find it necessary to change my order and left ASG.

No, when they went to place my actual order this is what was returned when the order was placed. And it was before the August 6th cutoff as the order date is on my POC and it matches the day I actually placed my order. You may check with your dealer to see if FOR SURE you're going to get it.

I spoke with a gentlemen from corporate on the phone for probably 15 minutes and he was VERY apologetic about it.....he said he's been yelled at by many dealers and some customers about various features being left off....he said RAM wants to build what the dealers and customers want as bad as we want them. They're truly trying to keep the production lines running....

I may check once production starts on mine. I assumed that the surround trailer view was an additional package cost. I hate you're not getting what you ordered. For me, a lot of this just seems like I'm at the mercy of what they can source. It's disappointing, but this purchase is a luxury for me.

I just noticed something on the picture in the QSG with the center console-the cubby where the CD player and subsequent pocket used to be shows just a full filler plate now. I hope that is not the case-I used that cubby a LOT for my phone before because the Note 20 didn't want to fit correctly with the cord attached in the phone holder/charger area. With CarPlay and AA being wireless now I plan on putting my phone in the holder but I still would like to have the cubby available to use.

FWIW, the truck in the marketing shots and at the CAS still had the cubby area in it. View attachment 104881

I've calmed the craziness by buying parts for the truck. Now I'm getting antsy about the growing pile of boxes. Once the truck comes in and everything is installed, an overwhelming sadness will come over me cause there will be no more boxes. LOL

Losing integrated TTPMS definitely sucks (and they really should have dropped the price of that package by at least $250-300 to compensate, not $100), but it's definitely on the easier end of of the tough pills to swallow spectrum, mostly because there are aftermarket alternatives, inelegant as they may be. So, if they absolutely HAD to drop SOMETHING from even a top trim truck, this was a better option than most.

Posting this again just in case. I really like this one, seems very basic, straightforward, easy to set up, easy to read, long battery life, portable/compact, etc. Has good reviews, is very reasonably priced, and appears reliable (based on reviews).

My wife told me I could start ordering parts once I get a build date. Not sure if I'll ever get to start LOL

Post up a copy of your POC, and I bet a good samaritan will "update" your POC with an estimated ship date that you can show your wife.

It is 100% an inventory issue. I work for an electronics supplier for the OEMs (including DT). The inventory is so low right now that some of our suppliers are increasing our costs by 80%+. We are constantly battling with our suppliers for inventory vs the other suppliers. Same thing the OEMs are doing.
