Train Horn - Powered through Ram Box outlet

As the thread states, has anyone installed a train horn and plugged the compressor (obviously not a 12v) through the outlet? Was wondering if this would simplify things. I would assume only wiring I would worry about is for either an aux button or a relay to take place of the factory horn.

Any idea how many watts/amps the compressor pulls?
IIRC the inverter in the rambox is rated at 400w (~3 amps)

A Viair 380C I had on my 2008 Bighorn would pull about 20-22 Amps at 12V.

I picked up a Sanden SD7H15 Clone on Amazon for $95. I will drain the oil
and put Red Hi Temperature Grease in all the bearings. I have identified two
bolts for one of the Brackets to hold the Compressor to the Ecodiesel. I have
to see about some other mounting points as well.

I will make an Hybrid Idler Pulley for the serpentine belt to drive a regular V
Belt to the Compressor. I will try to get pictures and a write up on what I
figured out. Then I can mount the tanks and move the set of Nathans
from my 2008 to the 2021 Laramie.

I am working on mounting a Sanden AC compressor on my EcoDiesel engine
for my On-Board Air. Then I can mount the tanks and move the set of Nathans
from my 2008 to the 2021 Laramie.

That's ~264 watts...it might work. As long as inrush doesn't exceed the inverter's capacity.

You will need an Unload Genie to unload the Compressor. You do not want to
start it up under pressure as it will draw massive current to overcome the Pressure.

The main reason I went with the York and Sanden AC compressors is the Refill rate.

The Viair took 23 minutes to fill the 9 Gallon tank from 0 to 200 PSI. The York would do it
in 3 minutes at idle. If my pressure switch (165-200 PSI) turned on the Compressor it
would take 15 seconds to cut off at idle and 8 seconds if I was driving.

350 watt power supply, viair pump wired into it, power supply plugged into outlet... allows me to leave it on or off while driving and no worries that it will just run whenever the truck isnt on.
