My understanding is, due to the chip shortage there is no blind-spot and cross-path detection on the Level A. Here is an example from two 2021 Rams (early build versus current build):

Laramie Level 1 Equipment Group
-Automatic High–Beam Headlamp–Control -
-Blind–Spot and Cross–Path Detection
-ParkSense® Front and Rear Park–Assist with Stop
-Rain–Sensitive Windshield Wipers
-Power Tailgate–Release

Laramie Level A Equipment Group
-Automatic High–Beam Headlamp–Control
-ParkSense® Front and Rear Park–Assist with Stop
-Rain–Sensitive Windshield Wipers
-Power Tailgate–Release
-Rear 60/40 Split Folding / Reclining Seat

Some clever people designed the option combinations....why do we have to order a Laramie option package just to get rear wheel well liners? Why do we have to bump up to Laramie level B to get power side steps? It all adds up $$$

Agree...the same thing Ford and GM have done through the years but FCA is using the chip shortage to change up the packages. Wait until they come out with the electric trucks...they will all have level packages where the further you want to go, the more it will cost. I'm sure the base Ram will get you to the grocery store and back but a 800 mile trip towing a trailer will cost us dearly.

That's exactly right. The only benefit is that they dropped the price by $200 on each package. I honestly don't care about having that feature, and it wouldn't affect my buying decision.

I like having blind-spot and cross-path detection.
On my next truck if I have to upgrade to get that, I'll definitely do it.
