I'm getting my ceramic tint installed next week. I've never had ceramic tint before, but after hearing about the rave reviews on here it sounds like it will be a huge benefit out here in Phoenix. I usually tint my windows with 35% on the front and Limo in the back. With the heat blocking abilities of the ceramic tint I'm wondering if I should go with Limo in the back. It's going to cost me $500 since I'm going to add the clear on the windshield to block the heat from coming in when driving. I'm actually thinking of going 15% all around even though the legal limit is 35% here for the front.

Can you all post pics of your ceramic tint and what level of tint you used and how you're liking it so far?

I think I did 25% on top the factory in the back and legal, 40% on top in the front. Pretty dark in the back but great heat rejection in the summer.

I did 35% front, 50% rear and 80% on the windshield of my 1500, it makes a huge difference. Planning on doing exactly the same, might go to 35% in the rear, on my 2500.
I wouldn't go any darker in the front because it starts to get hard to see at night, especially when trying to back the TT up.

Maybe I'll stick to the standard 35% in the front then. Only 50% in the rear? Was that because the 20% that's already on the rear glass? It would seem like the rears would look a lot lighter than the fronts using only 50%.

I did 70% over the rear and 15% on the front doors. Matches up pretty close. Still debating on getting the windshield done, for now there is just a 5% strip across the top.

I just had 3M Ceramic IR 25% installed last Friday on my for side windows and it is perfect. Because I have the topper on the back I opted not to have them tint the rear windshield as it already has factory and additional tinting would have made it difficult to see "in the tunnel." The 3M Ceramic IR is guaranteed for life against cracking, peeling, crazing, bubbling, blistering, and fading. Total price including removal of the poor quality tint the dealer installed on the front two side windows (which they wanted $650 for but I refused to pay for their add on crap) was $385.

They offered to do the front windshield however I had it on a previous Ram and it distorted the view thus I opted out. They insisted this new Ceramic IR doesn't have the distortion however when I asked if he would install it and if distorted not charge me...he backed off the "it won't be distorted" claim. This is what it looks like from the inside, while I was picking up some meats.

That 25% in the rear looks pretty dark. It looks like a better option than going 5%. I wanted them to match up a little better, but this looks good. I didn't think of not doing the back window. Thanks for the pic. That helps.

Yeah, he taped a piece to my back window as I wanted it to match the dark tint on the Leer topper. He utilized his meter and I utilized my eyes to ensure it was a close match as he also had 15% and 5% available. The 25% was a perfect match for the rear windows and the topper...and of course, the 25% is the legal tint for the front driver/passenger windows.

I did 5% ceramic on my front windows, 15% ceramic over factory on the rears, and 60% crystalline on my windshield and I love it! I drive probably 75% of the time at night and while it is dark, it’s not crazy.

I was wrong. 45% front and 25% rear. Overcast day and pollen. Lots and lots of pollen.

The goal was just a little bit darker and better heat rejection. It was 50% on top of the factory tint.

Heat rejection is a biggie with ceramic. I compared to the standard tint and there was a big swing. Wasnt much of difference comparing 45 to 35 with ceramic though.

Front side windows will always look lighter depending on where the sun hits the windshield and also the color of your interior makes a perceived difference

I got 70 on the windshield with an additional 25 sun strip, 25 on front doors and 35 on all rears. All are SolarGard films. Total was $637 in the DC area.

When I got my truck it had front tint that measured 40% and factory rear is 22%

I changed the front to 15% and added 35% over the factory tint which now measured out to 9% afterwords

For reference; Before deciding on 35% for the rear we put a piece of 15% over the factory tint and measured it at 5%

Nice! Yeah the tint guy I've been using for over 10 years now uses SolarGard. He's charging me $400 for everything and $100 for the windshield if I want that.
