Just bought a 2020 bighorn and have been looking at exhaust/mufflers for a week or so. Not a gearhead so learning as I go. I really love the sound of the Borla atak cat back but too pricey for me. I've seen a few clips of the cherry bomb extreme muffler and man it sounds good but I'm concerned about quality. Anyone have any advice or experience with it? I called Borla the other day to talk to them about if they had an atak muffler only and to my surprise spoke with an R and D guy. He said the closest I could get to that sound would be the 400372 borla xr 1 sport and a stainless Y pipe to connect it to the tail pipes. Also I've read that the stock exhaust is stainless? If the stock is stainless I'd like to get the borla and try this rig the borla guy recommended. I've called some muffler shops around here and they say they can't weld stainless so that kind of bummed me out about that idea. I know nothing about welding and basically need to go to the shop and talk to them about what some options are.

If a Cherry Bomb Extreme type sound is what you are looking for, you should look at B2 Fabrication with the Pypes Muffler.

Whatever you choose, tried to stick with 304 stainless steel, but I definitely wouldn’t go beyond 400 series, especially if you live in the Northeast, or anywhere that they use salt on the roads in the winter. That being said, you can find several mufflers that bolt-on, which required no welding... although I’m not sure why that’s an issue as you can weld stainless steel. Nonetheless, Magnaflow might interest you... B2 Fabrication makes a retrofitted bolt-on for around $200 that might give you the sound that you’re seeking: https://www.b2fabrication.com/ram-exhaust-system

Thanks for the replies and before reading them I had already purchased the B2 delete. It seems like the best option out there. I live in lexington ky. Decent sized city and have called all around and these guys don't want to pay for stainless wire to weld with. It blows my mind. I'm sure there's a muffler guy that gearheads go to that I just haven't found yet.

B2 makes a great product. Not sure you'll like the delete though if you tow or do much highway driving. How does law enforcement in your area deal with loud exhausts? I'd be getting "fix it" tickets if I tried going without a muffler. I sincerely hope you like it.

I have their oval muffler and love it. No droning at all at any rpm level, and really not much louder than stock when idling/cruising. But it wakes up when you give it throttle. Perfect for what I wanted, and my neighbors don't complain when I start my truck at 5:30 am. An exhaust doesn't have to be loud to sound good.

In kentucky everyone has a loud exhaust truck or car and we don't do inspections. I've never heard of anyone being ticketed for it, we lean libertarian here. I don't do much highway or towing. I've never had a loud exhaust vehicle but I don't feel it'll bother me at all now my neighbors at 5 when I go to work idk but they have three vehicles without a muffler that are loud as hell so idc. Kind of curious what the level of loud is gonna be like with this delete, it doesn't translate well through videos but I like the growl.

Haha...don't get me wrong. I love how an open exhaust sounds on a good running V8. I've owned plenty of loud cars and trucks in the past. Some were loud by accident, and some were loud by design. But I didn't live in town back then, and most of my driving was on the highway or back roads. I always tried to keep it in a higher gear and use a light touch on the throttle when driving in town. Still got pulled over occasionally though.

I ran the cherry bomb extreme muffler on my 2011 and 2013 rams that I had. I didn't have either of those trucks for very long (about 2.5-2.75 years), so can't speak too much to anything longer than that. On my 11 it held up fine and I never had any issues, on my 2013 I did have it start to rot out a little bit, but I'm pretty sure that was due to poor installation of the muffler itself, where water got trapped in it and eventually started finding its way out. I live in the northeast in the rust belt where we use salt like our lives depend on it, I would still run another one if I was looking for that aggressive of a sound again.

As for the sound, I did really love that. Very clean sound going up and coming down RPM's, no cracking or popping, which is what I wanted (clean sound). For the price they are hard to beat, not sure what they cost now but they were around $50 when I bought mine.
