What's the smoothest & quietest 33" or 34" tire I can get on my stock 20's

I'm gonna say the Cooper AT 4S. Smooth, lighter than the Falken, and should be an improvement in the mileage department. Had them on my last truck and for an AT tire, they hug the road in rain and snow. I was so impressed that when these Falken tires wear to more than 50% I'm getting the Coopers.

Yes, they seem to do better on wet roads and equal in all other areas as AT tires go. That was the biggest decider for me as AT tires typically suck in wet road conditions. Those coopers hugged the road like glue.

Yokohama G015. The BEST AT tire with a non AT ride. Whisper quiet with a good look, 3 peak snow rated, and perform awesome on gravel and trails.

People's experiences are all over the place with tires. I had Toyo M/T's on my F150 and they were good for about 70k, were as quiet as a highway tire and performed awesome. I loved those tires. They were just super expensive.

I would have said cooper at3/atp’s that I ran on two previous trucks but after 13,000 mi on the factory Falkens I’d be hard pressed not to go with the wild peaks again, just in a larger size.

Let me clarify something… North Edition and off-road package trucks do NOT come with Falken AT3w tires. They come with At3wa which is sold in Europe. The tread pattern is very different. I’ve owned both (at3w LT 285/70/17 P275/60/20 —- at3wa P275/55/20). I used to sell tires as a service advisor at a ram dealer. The At3w is a perfect tire except they do run a little heavy compared to similar tires. I would choose them over the K02. The Yokohama G015 is going to be even quieter and lighter.
275/60/20 will have lots of P rated tires which would be wise. Bigger tires will be very heavy LT load, ride stiffer and decrease fuel economy. If you want 34’s Nitto terra grappler G2 P275/65/20 are an option.

The smoothest and quietest AT tire that you can buy is probably the Continental TerrainContact AT. I don't have them, but they were #1 on my list. I'm just waiting for the factory tires to wear down.

I wont say Best or add -est to words like quiet, etc. Hard to say best if you've only tried 1 or 3 tires.

All I can say is that the Continental AT is an excellent tire. I ran them on my 4th Gen. Longhorn. Great ride, dry wet traction, mildly aggressive look, treadwear etc.

Will be installing them soon on my 2019.

I researched for weeks before deciding on the 275/60-20 Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S. I would've preferred a 275/70-18 size but ultimately didn't want an E-Rated tire that would disrupt the factory ride quality. The Cooper gets fantastic reviews and appears to be the best overall combo of looks, weight (44lbs), performance (65k mile warranty & 3 peak snow rated), and price ($206 each.) With the new wheels I ordered, I should be right around the same weight as the factory wheels w/ 275/55/-20 Bridgestones but with 1" more diameter.

I just installed a set of Cooper Dicsoverer AT3 in LT285/60R20 for my truck. A co worker has them and loved them. I got a good deal so I decided to give them a shot. A few things. The tread blocks look to me like they would be noisy. They are not. I feel no appreciable noise difference from the stock Bridgestones. Second, even with the 3.92 rear end, the loss of effective dear ration is noticeable. I commute over a couple of good sized hills on the fwy in SoCal and where I once went over the hills in 8th, no matter what, if it is the warmer part of the day it downshifts to 7th. Not the end of the earth, but if you were someone who towed a lot you would notice it. Also, and this is likely brand dependent I think people generally worry too much about ride changes from the P tires to LT. I feel no real difference in these either, and for what its worth I didn't in my F150 either with both Toyo MT's and a similar Kelly.

Had 2 sets of Nitto Terra Grappler's.. G1 and G2 through a pair of Jeeps.. Both had high pitched whine at highway speed.

Had a set of old Falken Rock Mountains (Wildpeak version 1) back in 2010 really quiet. I have the new WildPeaks on my Tacoma right now.. super quiet and a thicker/tougher tire compared to Nitto/Cooper. Favorite brand right now.

I have also enjoyed a set of Cooper ATP's on one of the Jeeps.

Nittos are loud from my experience, just my experience.


I just ordered my Ram today so won't be driving a Tacoma much longer..

VERY happy with my BF Goodrich Advantage T/A tires. Bought them paired with HELO rims from Discount Tire. Tires are 275/60 R20s. See signature picture.

Very quiet running and seem to be wearing well and evenly.

Early on I heard pronounced whine/whirr, which I blamed on the tires, but it was some hard surfaced boxes stacked in the back seat provoking the audio feedback system. Took out the boxes and apologized to the tires.

Yeah I agree.... i’m going to run them through the winter and change them out next spring (AT3wa). Should have around 20k on it by then. I drive a long way for work. I was going to do a 2” lift but now I’m leaning for a 4 inch lift but since I have an eco-diesel BDS says that’s not an option at this time.... I’m pressing pause before I do any suspension upgrades to see what else comes out since these trucks are so new. I already have the off-road package and it looks good. Going to raise the front with a Moto fab spacer this weekend and that should tide me over till next year.

Either way these Falkens are great tires but the AT3W is definitely top-tier.

I just installed the Yokohama GO15 AT in size 275/65/20 and happy so far but it's early. They are quieter than the Duratrac, look good. Just adding another opinion.

Hi, I just saw your comment regarding Yokohama tires, and you said that you put on 20”, but in your signature you have 22” wheels ? I am looking at this tires ( also Canadian) but looking for 285/55r22. And as I know this option is not available in Canada.
