Rubber Door Bumpers

Just picked up my 2019 1500 Laramie last Friday and I am in LOVE!!

However, I noticed that there was a hollow sound to the rear driver side door. I pulled it apart and put dynamat in the door yesterday and solved that issue but also saw that the door bumpers are messed up. Anyone know where I can but replacement bumpers?

Concerned now that something was wrong with this door that I was not made aware of from the dealership.

What do you feel is wrong with the door bumpers?

They are not seated tightly against the door, they just move freely. The expansion clips that lock the bumper in place are are broken.

Likely nothing wrong with your door - many do as you describe from the factory.
Which Dynamat did you use, and where exactly did you put it?

I notice on my new 20 Laramie the rear driver's side door sounds like that when I shut it. Sounds almost hollow whereas the others sound more solid when shut. May see if others at the dealer sound like that. Wonder if it's just a coincidence the same door on both trucks are doing this.

It wasn't the name brand dynamat, I went with the Frost King .125 in. foam plumbing pipe tape. It is a mold-able tape, comes in a 12" x15' roll for less than $20 at lowes. I removed the interior panel, then removed the door speaker. I cut the tape into 6-8" x 10-12" sections then carefully fed them through the speaker opening and stuck them to the exterior door panel. I used 4 sections to cover as much space as I could.

After installed, the door sounds just as solid as the rest of the doors. I did note that there is a structural piece in the door that looks like it comes with a factory spray foam injected between the bar and the door panel, it seemed like there was separation between this and I wondered if that was why the door sounded more hollow.

Now, I am just waiting for the rubber stops to come so I can pop two new ones in and make sure everything is as good as new.

I checked my door bumpers, and they "spin" also. I don't have the hollow door sound, but did have to adjust the strikers on the rear doors due to the bottom corners sticking out a bit. Please post the results you notice after replacing the bumpers, and how you removed the ones already installed, as they don't appear to pull out easily.

my passenger rear side door doesn't sound as solid as the other 3 do....it seems flush when shut so who knows...

My 2020 is the same as yours it’s not as solid sounding as the other 3 either.

I am glad to hear that this seems to be a more common issue than expected, I feel less like the dealership tried covering something up even though it seems a little ridiculous for an expensive truck. No love lost though, this is hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned.

I bought 8 of the bumpers. They do come out pretty easy, they have 4 sides, 2 that are stationary and 2 that flare slightly to lock into the hole once pushed in. When the new ones come, I will pull the current ones and post pictures.

I am really happy of the solid sound that came from $20 in insulation tape.
