Lived in Lafayette for 3 years. My wife is from Opelousas.

When I first came to Louisiana, (Acadiana), it was for a job interview. At the airport the cabbie asked me where I was staying, and I said "Hotel Aca-Indiana". I got the scenic tour on the way to the hotel as a result.

Later after I accepted the job and drove into town for the first time, I wandered into a Burger King and made my order. The girl behind the counter just stared at me. I said, is there a problem? She said no, you just sound funny. I said funny, how? She said you sound like a TV announcer.

True stories.

Welcome to Lafayette. Let the good times roll....

Another Louisiana memory for me: My friends - "hey, let's go to the drive-thru daquari hut!". Me (from Arizona) - "Uh, wut?...." Then after purchasing and driving off drinking in car, Me - "Uh, so how is this not in violation of open container?..." Friends - "well, they put masking tape over the straw, silly!" Let the good times roll!....

Hear that a lot from out of state people. I have many people who solicit from out of state for work, NBD to us, we grew up in this environment, but they get a kick out of it like they are doing something illegal and being bad...lol.
My wife's cousin was in the Navy and as usual, moved around a lot during that time and met his wife who is from Minnesota....The first time here she was literally speechless. I really thought she may be deaf. Next trip down she opened up a little and she said she was just trying to take it all in and was in culture shock. She heard about Louisiana but thought most of what she heard was embellished. Drive through Daquari, was one she couldn't believe. Her husband being from Brusly and his family is a lil cra-cra didn't help things. Sweetheart of a girl.

All I can say is that for a kid just out of college getting his first real paycheck, it was a blast living in Lafayette Louisiana!! It was a party every night (literally) and a festival every weekend!! I even went out with the Yam queen of Donaldsonville!

I use to play tournaments over there often, and we would hit the strip Friday and Saturday nights...The Keg was the spot, and more often than not we would leave from going out and go straight to the park to play the first game hungover or still drunk. We never won a tournament (shocker), but we show had a gewd time yeah cher. I love Lafayette, like my Dad use to say, "The land of the big tiddy women"

Good to hear that there`s others out here in La.! I`m new to Ram trucks, always owned GM`s but loving it so far after a year. Question.....why are us good southerners looped in with Delaware, DC--ugh, and Maryland? Why can`t we be added to a good state like TX?

From Destrehan here. I work in Metairie and Downtown areas so you can see me on I-10 daily. I was also a GM guy but had to move on. This is by far the nicest truck I have owned. Time will tell if its just as reliable but really enjoy it right now.

Welcome to Ram!!! You will be happy you switched.
I've owned GM, Ford, Toyota, Nissan & Ram. Switched to being loyal Ram/Dodge in 1996 when I bought a Dodge Lumina for a company car. Have now owned 3 Rams, 2003, 2013, & now 2019. Have owned 3 Jeeps, 1 2011 GC 4.0 and 2 Wrangler Limiteds, 2013 and now a 2016, also ordered a 2006 SRT-8 Charger (first year model) and still have it today. Currently working on my 4th engine build for it. 426 short block is in the car, just need to finish out the top end, electrical and what-nots.
