How would you go about Blacking out a Limited? Purchase a new front grille, wrap it instead, etc??

Black out fans,

I have the factory blackout, I love the looks!

I'm considering removing the factory off road decal, and maybe also the "Bighorn" from the tailgate even though they are black already.

A friend thinks I'm nuts to remove the offroad decal, as it shows a special version of the truck, he says people often pay to add those decals.

What do you think? Remove the offroad decal or leave it?

I would just send it to a body shop and have it professionally painted to match. That simple.

What's up guys, I know this is a little late to the game and I'm not good at the whole forum thing but I used to have a 2014 Ram Sport and I liked the Chrome touches in the grill so I opted for that. Took the dude 6 days to paint, chrome has been removed on the driver/passenger side. Now I'm just waiting on BDS to get the air-ride lift completed. Already have runs and tires in the garage and hood badges and tailgate Ram color matched in route from Jeremy @Retroshop then I'll add the chrome 1500 from current badges and have the Hemi part chromed locally. Looking for the blackout look (but not murdered out) with the small chrome accents.

I'm with you. Some decals look better than others. While I don't mine the look of the FX4 decals on the Fords, (they just seem right), I don't like the design on the RAMs. For some reason they just don't seem to "flow".
Call me weird

You could always have yours “ ghosted “ like I have on mine. Unless you see it from a certain angle or are right up on it, you won’t see it.

I have since removed the decals and a lot of the badges, the truck looks great!

I only wish I could find high quality black lug nuts that won't rust over time.

Now I notice the Rambox locks and driver door locks as they are stainless.

What I did was purchased two sets of black lugs and when one set starts to look discolored, I’ll swap to the next set. For the cost of them it’s worth my sanity lol. 8F9ACE49-D0A2-4549-9808-C804B9ABDF6B.jpeg

Here you go. These seem to be good quality (solid instead of sheathed design like the factory ones).

I think the off road decal looks cheesy and the decal adds zero value. It looks especially cheesy on the upper trims like the limited.

Not sure why someone would pay to add that decal if they dont already have the ORP. It's the ORP that adds value not the decal.

Either way it's your truck your choice.

Thanks, but reviews talk about early rust issues.

I saw a couple that mentioned this, but I'd trust the other folks w/o issues as the majority of the 139 reviews are favorable (went through all of them when I was considering this).

If I decide to swap, these are the ones I will get, since they're solid with cathodic coating.

Good luck.

Thank you for your kind compliment! It is easy to replace the chrome emblems with black ones. You can gain tremendous knowledge on Youtube. Thus far I have personally replaced all the chrome pieces except the front grill and will do the grill shortly after COVID19 subsides. If you need parts, call Josh at Mopar Wholesale Parts. He is good and the prices are excellent. Should you guys need help, don't hesitate to ask. Stay safe!

Will you be replacing the grill with the black pkg one, or having it wrapped ?

I like how you did the grill. I am thinking doing the same. How much did it cost you?
