With most new vehicles getting a options of sunroofs or panoramic roof, what are your thoughts of them?
I, personally only sporadically use the sunroof (non panoramic) in our SUV, and had it some how spontaneously shatter. So I have reservations about getting a vehicle that has a moonroof of any type, plus it’s just another thing that can break down. But would like to hear other opinions.

For me it's a non negotiable. My last 5 vehicles have had them, 2 had panoramic sunroofs and I'll definitely be getting one when I order my 2019.

My current car (Hyundai Azera) has one and I love it! I only close the shade during the really hot, sunny days, since none of the glass is tinted.

I'm planning to do a full tint job when I eventually get my Ram, so I expect to keep the shade open all the time.

Lol. Bass rattling, air suspension issues, uconnect issues. I'm not taking my chances with a giant, new design, complex, opening glass hole in the roof. Plus, my F150's randomly destroyed itself while trying to open it (warranty) and wouldnt close. So nope, not for me.

I've had them in multiple vehicles. One panoramic in the 2016 F150 I just traded, which was still working when I traded it. This one is a different design. If I can't have a convertible it'll have some sort of moonroof.

I have it on my 2019 and absolutely love it. I need to get it tinted with some ceramic still to help keep out the heat since I am in central Texas. It will get a lot more use when it starts cooling down. I looked long and hard to find a truck that had it.

I have one, but......its been so damn hot I don't get to use it a lot. I did have the glass tinted when I did my windows......and some days I open the shade - love that.

Any glass in the roof is russian roulette... you just never know. BUT, I still love the air rushing over, the sun and in winter any amount of light is welcome. I can't wait for my pano-sunroof and it's first trip to the dealer for the inevitable TSB to have the hardware/gaskets replaced!

My last 4 vehicles in the last 6 years all had panoramic (all Mopar). Not a single problem...even survived hail storms...all were ceramic tinted. 2 years were in sweltering GA heat and 4 in TX hell

That's encouraging!

Never had any issues with my pano in the Grand Cherokee, or the standard one in my Charge. I only used it to vent hot air in the summer. I didn’t get one in the ram. I’ll just use the rear sliding now.

Ok, I don't claim to be the sharpest tool in the shed but I'm reasonably competent.

Here's my issue that I've encountered. I can't get the stupid thing to open..... The first couple of days I'd touch the switch and it would slide back. Yesterday, I couldn't get it to open for the life of me. It would only vent. Tried a short touch, hold switch pushed, did a double touch. Tried it with the shade closed and open. The manual isn't too helpful. Or, I've got a wonky switch that I'll need to get looked at once I get back to Florida. I'm not going to mess with with a dealer up in Michigan as it's not a big deal. I'm not crazy a about this one switch does all. I'd rather have a switch to vent and a separate switch to open.

My wife has the Panoramic Sunroof in her Pacifica and loves it. I'm more indifferent to it, but it is nice in the winter to have the extra light. The '19 Ram I made a deal on off the lot had one but it wasn't something I had to have.

Shot in the dark here, but the same thing happened on my '13 Charger. There is a recalibration process that fixed my issue. I found moonroof recalibration steps for a 2011 RAM here. Maybe someone will know of a similar process for a more recent model year?

Ha, I've got a neighbor that keeps asking me to adopt him. ;) That has always been my downfall..... Addicted to cars.....

Then I guess it will be your Ram your giving away. :) well, it's not a bad addiction to have just an expensive one but one most of us would want.
