Hey Guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Likely going to pull the trigger on a limited this month. Looking at a few different ones.

Right now my only must haves are 33 gallon tank and 360 cam.

What about some of the other features that you guys have that you would definitely get again? The 2 features I’m looking at but not sure I need are ramboxes and the bed utility group.

Thanks!

I don’t have a Limited but I wouldn’t want to be without my Sport hood, and my powered steps. :)

Heated/vented seats. Pano sunroof. Maybe the Limited has both already.

The items you mention are 2 that I wish I had now...

The 360 camera was a must have for me, too. I skipped the Ramboxes because of the hit to payload, they are really heavy. The bed utility group loses some utility without them, but I still had to have the bed liner, and I use the rails a lot.

I required 4x4 because the primary reason I bought a truck is to pull a boat. The off-road group also benefits that with the AT tires and locker, but I do intend to hit some trails, as well.

Laramie and Limited both come with heated and cooled seats, so that was a requirement, but not really an option on those two trims.

Remember that the trailer tow group will remove the 360 camera, so pay attention to that.

I feel like everyone "must haves" are going to be very different lol.
I had to have 4-wheel drive, all weather floor liners and no sunroof (hate them) and some standard items (ie. backup cam, park assist, bluetooth, hands free).
The post purchase aftermarket stuff are the real must haves, bed liner, lift kit, hybrid tires.

3.92 rear axle if you planning on towing... 3.21 would work fine if your towing is limited and not pushing the tow weight limit...

If only looking at a Laramie or higher trim, I wanted anti slip and the 33 gallon tank,
I was ambivalent about the gearing (don't tow) and at first I didnt want E Torque.
Now I’d say antislip and the rest is personal needs.
Here in the SE theres gas available about everywhere, where I was before (Az) I’d have demanded the 33 gallon.
The cooled seats work great!
Of course I base some of my choices on knowing how trucks have changed since my 1st one, a 72’ F100 bought in 1974.
Std cab, 302 (small v8), 8’ bed, 4 spd, vinyl bench seat, no ac. SAE net 135 hp!
That was your basic truck. Now you cant get any of that from RAM.

Power Steps for sure... it makes it so much easier to get in & out of the truck.

Can't live without RamBoxes. You can get basically everything else on these trucks on another brand but the RamBoxes are unique and a game changer. All my buddies wish they could get RamBoxes on their preferred brands. Why they are so stuck on brand now days is beyond me but they won't buy anything else. I have one RamBox full of tools, tie downs, trailer accessories, etc. and one I keep empty for when I need it. It's really great for guns. No clutter, everything stays clean dry and secure and I don't give up cab or any real bed space.

I too gave up on the RAM Boxes... couldn't find the other options I really wanted AND the RAM Boxes, and come to find out, they're a heavy hit to payload. While I agree with Apexcars - they are quite handy - I just didn't want any lower of a payload (1,320lbs on my truck). I got everything else I wanted, and the 22" wheels, because they were already on the truck. Basically, Limited Level 1, 3.92, anti-slip rear, 33 gallon tank, trailer brake controller, and eTorque. I use darn near everything in the LL1 package on a daily basis, and love the get-up-and-go 3.92s and don't-need-to-worry-about-forgetting-it anti-slip.

360 camera and Ramboxes for me. First truck with the rambox and I don't think I'll ever be without them on a truck again. Just incredibly handy. This past weekend I threw our fishing poles and tackle boxes on one side (with fire extinguisher, ties downs, and first aide kit as well). Other side has a machete, bug spray, disc golf sets, and door ding magnetic protectors. Plenty of room for more stuff as well.

Nice truck! What's your payload?

I'd add e-tourque to my list, but that option is certainly one that is a personal preference. I know it gives me an added boost on mpg but be aware that the cost of the option will probably take years to make up.
