Does anyone know how to turn off the seat belt chime? I searched here and did not find any threads addressing this.

Thanks in advance for your replies and help.

I should try before posing this question, but I'm too lazy (and 800 miles away from my truck) to go out an try....does this procedure also disable the electronic parking break, or does it need to be deactivated manually every time to start driving? Specifically, when initially starting the vehicle.

Donno, but I am looking for a way to enable chime when rear seat belts are not worn by passengers. Never seen it on any vehicle I have driven though

you can buy Tazer DT and disable the chime, plus do tons of other cool stuff. Check it out.

Damn, I am going to have to try this on the weekend. That damn seatbelt chime is annoying; my wife always unbuckles coming up the road and I gotta listen to that chime for 5 minutes. I disable this thing on all my vehicles when possible.

Sorry, it did work for me. I thought that it was turning off the five chimes it does when you first start up the truck. Yes, if my belt is unbuckled, it does not chime.

Answer:

'Seatbelt extender' - go for a 3" rigid and your truck will always believe the seatbelt is clipped, *for offroad use only etc etc

Ok, this definitely works. Did it today while I was waiting in the truck for my wife to come out of the store, and when we came home I unclipped up the street and got only the quick "Seatbelt unbuckled" notice in the center panel and the light on the dash. No beeping! Love it, great find and thanks for posting it up!

I find it hilarious that we can turn off the seat belt reminder, but we can't turn off the stability controls/full traction controls....

There was a way to get past it on my 09 challenger but it would not work on these trucks since the way it was done was to pop out the push to start button and use the key.

It can be done. But you have to pull a fuse. Cuts power to all those things and abs.
