Has anyone done this, or taken the plastic cover off to see if there is a place to tap positive and negative? Also, is there a manual of some sort on the mirror, wiring/ cover removal? It’s a 19 Limited. Thanks

Yes, there is a key'd power source there. "Fused Ignition Switch Output Run / ACC" - and a ground. Only 3 wires that I see in the diagrams. One is for canbus, another is ground.

The power wire is pink / yellow.

Looking at the removal instructions of the rear view - just states to use a trim removal stick to remove the upper cover first, then the lower cover. Rear view mirror will then twist counter clockwise off of the aluminum button on the windshield.

If you complete the install, how about adding some photos so those of us still waiting on ours have a good instruction DIY?? Please?

See attached instructions for removal of overhead console & rearview mirror, and the wiring harness for rearview mirror.

The headliner harness runs in the same area:

This is the mirror harness:

It’s done. It’s a pain. The two wires you tap are the black ground and red next to it. I used blend mount wire kit 15 inch and their mount.

Hey, I have a limited for delivery next week and plan the same. What blend mount did you use? And of course, the usual photos ask:D. Please?

I am struggling to get the plastic off above the mirror. Any tips?

BTW Thank you, I Love Grits, for the diagrams!

I'd rather pull power from the harness up in the overhead console area. Wires look a little thicker. Anyone have the schematics for those two harnesses? Somewhere in there I"m sure there is a good ground and ignition switched 12V power lead.... (see pic, two of those wires are ideal, I hope!). Anyone know?

New Plan. Gonna just run one from the fuse box behind the globe box. Better all around...
