I am ready to place an order but unfortunately I cannot. I confirmed with two dealerships that they are no longer able to order a Laramie 4x4 Crew Cab 5'7" bed with 5.7L Hemi no eTorque. The only options are a V6 or the Hemi w/eTorque. The non eTorque Hemi is still available for the 6'4" bed but not the 5'7" bed. District Rep for dealer stated this is the only way the factory will be producing this truck (presumably from now going forward). I cannot get the 6'4" bed due to wife's criteria for ease of driving and cannot pay any more money for the eTorque. Wow, I cannot believe RAM is limiting this after offering it for so long. Highly discouraged I cannot order the truck I envisioned.

I would offer two suggestions:

1) Search dealer inventory for your truck already built and on a lot somewhere.

2) Check a dealer outside your region, especially a high-volume one. It's common for order restrictions to roll through regionally. I would seriously doubt this is a global, permanent change as the eTorque does not appeal to the majority of the RAM customer base base upon build stats as of end of last year...

I'm pretty sure that there are still plenty of Laramie's without E-Torque out there. Dealers trade with one another across states all the time. Email a few dealers, and you'll get something close to what you want. This time of year, you should be able to get a good deal too. You could also take a road trip. That would be a fun way to break in your new truck.

Thanks for the suggestions. Dealers have already searched for the build I want in inventory and there is nothing out there. If I order from a different region then I assume I would have to go to that dealer to pick the truck up? Road trip is difficult because my wife is pregnant.

Or it could tell you the build is still possible and you could wait till ordering reopens in your area.

Do note your dealer will not search very far. They stick within regional dealerships. You might need to do the work yourself and run through the RAM inventory online. Laramies are ultra popular because of value to price point, and there are many on the lots! My selling dealer took in 50, yes fifty, last week with only 9 being customer orders.

Go to this link. its setup for 2019 Laramie 4x4 Crew Cab 5'7" box.
https://www.ramtrucks.com/build.ram...ERG,DFT,TUM,WBC,DP,APA,UAM,Z6B,DMC,X9,PRV,23H

Just pick the options you want. once you get to the end, click "Search New Inventory"

Top left slider bar:

1) change zip code from mine to your zip code.
2) change search within 25 miles to 150 miles. it automatically sorts them by number of matches, based on options selected, then either by distance or price.

You will get a lot better deal on a truck already on the lot somewhere, than ordering it.

Hope this helps

Thanks, I have searched inventory all over the country and my specific build cannot be found: Laramie 4x4 Patriot Blue, Hemi no/etorque, Off road group, Bed utility group, Level 2, Advanced Safety group, Bench seat, 3.92 gears, 33 gallon gas tank, 18" wheels, pano sunroof. I do not need any other options on it in order to keep the price down (ex. no chrome package, no 12 inch screen)

Northern California Dealers cannot order, confirmed with 2. Also confirmed with a Nevada dealer. Waiting for calls back on the east coast and Texas.

"District Rep for dealer stated this is the only way the factory will be producing this truck "

I highly doubt that the 5.7 Hemi, non e-torque is on permanent restriction for a Laramie shortbed. I'd keep calling other dealers and keep asking the question if this is a temporary order restriction. Heck, even calling a dealer in another state would help dispel that district rep's assertion that the factory won't be producing that truck in any other configuration.

I have calls out to dealers in Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Minnesota. So far nobody can confirm that they can order it without the eTorque and they will all "call me back".

Well you certainly can still build it on the ramtrucks website in that configuration. There have been other temporary hiccups like this when ordering due to temporary restrictions on ordering certain things. I had multiple dealers tell me they couldn't order what I wanted originally, followed by other dealers that recognized they just had to wait a few days and place it as a sold order versus an order for their inventory. I am confident you will be able to order that configuration eventually.

Probably pretty unlikely to find that set of options on a dealer lot somewhere. I think it is unlikely that a dealer would order a truck with level 2 equipment, ASG, and the pano roof but then keep the bench seat and 18" wheels - that is a pretty specific set of options. Figure most people buying trucks with level 2, ASG, and pano roofs are likely looking for more fully loaded trucks (buckets, 20's). Dealers order what they know is going to sell quickly.

When I was searching, both blue colors where almost non existent, as I liked patriot blue also.

Its the front bench seat. Take it out and I bet u find a match on rest.

Can also drop bed utility group, u dont get cargo divider. Unless Rambox ordered.

33 gallon tank, it's nice but not a deal breaker.

Yeah, that's pretty specific - you have to either be patient or be flexible. There are a couple in Texas (fly there, drive home), but you'd need to bend a little on your criteria. For what it's worth, when I was doing nationwide searches, I found that it's easier to use Edmund's, they don't have the 150 mile restriction that the Ram site has. Their option search can be a little wonky, though, so you have to double-check everything. Honestly though, every couple of weeks they turn ordering options on/off - if you 100% need this combo, try again in a couple of weeks.

Wow, I love this forum. The dealers were placing the order under dealer inventory and it was not working. I told them to change the priority to sold order and try again and it seems to have worked. I am finalizing my order now. Thank you for that tid bit. Looks like the dealers cant order that config for their own inventory for the time being..

Bench seat has all the functionality of the buckets so I do not see the point in getting the buckets... its cheaper and I like the openness of the cab without the console plus there is plenty of storage in the armrest and under the middle seat of the bench. Bed Utility group will be nice to have for the spray liner, bed hooks, and LED lights in the bed, and the tank will just be nice to not fill it up as often.

Can anyone confirm that with the bench seat I will still retain all lumbar support and memory seat etc.. I am pretty sure all of that is retained but it is the only thing I am somewhat hesitant on because website only specifies it on the buckets but I have seen benches with it and maybe it is part of the Level 2 package by default.

Boom! Glad I could help. I learned it from a dealer who was on here back when I first started thinking about ordering. Happy it helped someone else as well. Don't settle for something you don't want it if you don't have to. :)

It amazes me how it seems a lot of these dealers are not very knowledgeable/helpful. Anyways, thanks again, You da man!

I don't know where you're located, but I bought my Longhorn off the lot from Nyle Maxwell in Austin.

Per this link to their website, they have several Laramies in stock without the eTorque. You could fly to Austin and drive your truck home. And no, i don't own stock in Nyle Maxwell. : )

I 2nd Nyle Maxwell.

Here is how it works - By DEFAULT, ordered trucks will come with the E-Torque engine and you MUST request to have it without the E-Torque which started in January/February for the builds I believe.

I was suprised as well and opted to not get the E-Torque, but they're still building them without it.
