2025 Ram 1500 Lineup Debuts In Australia
Ram Trucks Australia Introduces HURRICANE-Powered 1500 Models...

Ram Trucks Australia has officially unveiled its 2025 Ram 1500 (DT) lineup, ditching the 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 in favor of the new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE I6 engine. The lineup will kick off with two new variants, the Ram 1500 Laramie Sport and Limited Night Edition—both featuring increased power, torque, and upgraded technology.
Exterior Design and Features –
Ram has refreshed the 1500’s exterior with redesigned LED headlights, tail-lights, front fascia, and wheels. The Laramie Sport gets 20-inch aluminum wheels (275/55R20 tires), while the Limited Night Edition rides on 22-inch aluminum wheels (285/45R22 tires). The RamBox storage system and spray-in bedliner are included as standard.
Available in four colors—Bright White, Billet Silver, Delmonico Red, and Diamond Black—the Ram 1500 continues to offer premium styling combined with serious capability.
Technology and Interior Upgrades –
Ram has packed the 2025 1500 lineup with cutting-edge technology. Both models come with a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto™, a 10.25-inch front passenger display, and dual wireless phone chargers. The Limited ups the ante with massaging front seats, a 125-liter (33-gallon) fuel tank, and traffic sign recognition.
A redesigned LED lighting system with animation on unlock adds a modern touch, while a power tailgate can now be opened or closed using the key fob. Standard safety features include a surround-view monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and a digital rearview mirror.
Capability and Performance –
Despite the switch to the HURRICANE engine, the 2025 Ram 1500 retains its renowned towing and payload capabilities. The Laramie Sport maintains a 4,500 kg (9,921 lbs) braked towing capacity, while the Limited Night Edition sees a slight decrease to 4,200 kg (9,259 lbs). Payload capacity increases slightly, with the Laramie Sport rated at 863 kg (1,903 lbs) and the Limited Night Edition at 782.5 kg (1,725 lbs).
Both models offer five drive modes—Auto, Sport, Tow, Snow, and Off-Road—enhancing performance for various conditions. The Limited model also comes equipped with adaptive air suspension, featuring Normal, Aero, and Off-Road ride height settings.
HURRICANE Power –
Under the hood, the Laramie Sport is powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter HURRICANE standard-output (S/O) I6 engine, producing 313 kW (420 horsepower) and 635 N⋅m (468 lb-ft) of torque, delivering 22 kW (30 horsepower) and 79 N⋅m (58 lb-ft) more than the outgoing 5.7-liter HEMI® V8.
Meanwhile, the Limited packs the high-output (H/O) version of the HURRICANE engine, cranking out an impressive 403 kW (540 horsepower) and 707 N⋅m (521 lb-ft) of torque, an increase of 112 kW (150 horsepower) and 151 N⋅m (111 lb-ft) over the V8 it replaces. Both models send power to all four wheels through a ZF-sourced 8-speed 8HP75 automatic transmission.
2025 Ram 1500 Pricing –
The 2025 Ram 1500 lineup starts at $141,950 AUD (or about $92,500 USD) for the Laramie Sport, while the range-topping Limited Night Edition comes in at $159,950 AUD (or about $104,000 USD), a $3,000 AUD (about $2,000 USD) increase from last year.
Overall –
While some may miss the sound of the HEMI V8, Ram Trucks Australia believes the HURRICANE will carve out its own reputation. “With more power and torque than the 5.7-liter, the HURRICANE engines take the Ram 1500—and U.S. pickups in general—to a new level of performance,” said Jeff Barber, General Manager of Ram Trucks Australia.
