Why is the 10.0” (256mm) rear axle restricted?

Any idea why Ram limits the Max Tow with the bigger 256mm (10.0”) rear axle to the 4x2 Quad Cab 5.7 eTorque configuration and everything else gets the smaller 235mm (9.25”) rear axle?
