Does anyone know why Ram started using the 285/45/22 tire size?

Because 275/60/20 tires won’t fit on 22 inch rims… :)

Honestly… got ‘em and love ‘em. Bigger rims are simply the trend… nothing more.

I’m a throwback. Tried to get the dealer in 2019 (when I bought that Ltd) to take my 22’s and give me 20’s so I could have more sidewall. I don’t like the lower-wider look, probably due to slicing a (weak) sidewall and having to replace a pair.

I love my 22"s truck rides great and the large combo filles in the wheel well nicely. I'd have bought the truck with either option but it was optioned with 22"s when I bought, no regerts
