bought this as a CPOV at 48k miles a month ago, so it's still under Mopar Maxcare. I just got my truck back with the axle actuator replaced because it couldn't switch into 4wd. It is able to switch to 4lo and 4hi successfully, but seems have to switch to N every time based on dash instructions. Is that normal.

I now have discovered other issues, would love anyone here to advise:
1. 4hi has whining between 0 to 40mph. It's very noticeable. Gets worse if i turn at low speed (below 20mph)

2. 4lo cause the truck to shudder. Especially turning at low speed. I got it to a point where if i was going 5mph consistently and turn the steering wheel half way, the truck is stuttering / rocking back and forth as if it was stuck between gears. Honestly, i lack the words to properly describe it.

3. I now started hearing a squeal while braking at around 40mph. This seems to be happen in 2wd or 4wd.

I am definitely going to take it back to the deal. I read in some other forums the brake squeal may be a TSB requiring new rear pads and caliper bracket. But i couldn't find anyone that have referred to my problems around 4hi and 4lo. Is this a drive shaft or transfer case issue? However, since the truck had a bad axle actuator, i suspect it hadn't gone into 4hi or 4lo for a very long time, could that be a factor?

Would love any advice from anyone on this! Thank you so much!

Certainly worth taking it in as you said.

For #1 - I don't have much, I do feel like my 4WD has some whine at higher speeds but I wouldn't consider it loud; just "different" than 2wd. If I'm on the road and it's needed I almost always use 4auto.

For #2 are you feeling the shudder in dirt or gravel or are you just feeling this on pavement? I can instantly tell the first turn I make if I've forgotten to turn off 4WD when I'm back on pavement.

For #3 the brake tsb is for cool/damp mornings the first few times braking there's an obnoxious squeal. I've had it since I bought my 2019 and even after the TSBs were performed. It's always been the first 2-3 braking times and then it's typically gone for the day (backing out of the driveway and the first stop sign).

Every 4WD system I've ever run across, old and new, require you to go to neutral/park to enter 4LO. You could easily blow a motor/explode your drive line if you were allowed to switch to 4LO with any significant speed due to the Lo gearing. The 4WD walk you feel in 4LO is also normal. 4Lo is a rock "Crawling" mode. If you are on a hard surface and attempt to accelerate to higher speeds in 4LO/4HI, you run the risk of breaking something in your 4WD driveline. Your post reads to me like you are new to 4WD vehicles. A service department will look at you with bewilderment if you bring it in complaining about totally normal 4WD driveline behavior. Unless you are very stuck, or need to creep up/down steep terrain, or are attempting to pull a stump from the ground, I doubt you will ever need to use 4Lo.

You should be able to shift on the fly into and out of 4 auto or 4wd Hi without going into neutral. If your truck does this, it is behaving as designed.
