I've been reading this site for quite awhile lots of great info. I did a few searches and can't find the info I'm looking for. I'm looking at trading in my 19 Ram 1500 for a 21 1500. I've got my order pretty much figured out but whether I want the off-road package or not. For the cost if the tires are good its a cheap option to get good AT tires and skid plates. I'm doing the air suspension so I won't gain much there. I like the idea of a load range C tire also but I can't find what tires Ram ships with the package. The only two tires I can find in that size are either Goodyear Wrangler Durtrac or Toyo Open County AT3

I searched inventory locally and then ran the VIN for the build sheet.
LT275/65R18C OWl On/Off Road Tires
Falken Brand Tires
Thats what I had thought it should be to from what I read but just seems odd because Falken doesn't show a Load Range C which should be a 6 ply tire available. They only show a SL 4 ply and a Load Range E 10 ply tire in that size. I couldn't find one on either of my local dealers lots to check first hand either. Anyone own one that can tell me.

The tires are average at best, however the Off Road Package gives you a 1” lift , skid plates and a locking rear diff which is of much more value. I tossed the Falkens mine came with 3 days after buying it to get different tires. I need all the traction I can get where I live and play.

Thank you. I don't know why Falken doesn't show that tire in the list of sizes. Oh well its ordered with the ORG. Now the wait begins.

They are not a bad tire. Not as aggressive as the A/T3W but way better than getting a BFG Rugged Trail.

Like ColoradoCub, I ditched mine shortly after getting my truck. I wanted something more aggressive for off-roading so traded them in for $300 and got Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

My dad did the same thing when he got his 2020 Limited with ORG except he went with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3Ws.

You're being pretty dismissive of something you didn't even really use...LOL I agree that there are better options for serious off-road use, if that's what you're planning to do with your truck. I'd guess that most people don't use a brand new $50k plus truck for that though, and instead use them mainly on paved surfaces, possibly with occasional light off-road use. And the oem Falkens are a lot better than average for that kind of use, especially if you do any winter driving. I have yet to take my Laramie off-road, but I've used them for almost a full year, and they work great in wet and dry snow, in the rain, and in dry conditions. If I was going to switch these out for off-road use I'd go with BFG Ko2's and call it a day. The OP was asking for opinions on load range C tires, and that's what the stock Falkens are.

I was responding to the OP who was doing a cost analysis on the Off Road Group package and his view that the all terrain tires the ORG comes with might somehow make the package worth it money wise. IMO the Falkens that they come with is not a reason to buy the ORG package, they are no better or worse than most average AT tires. I drove mine in snow and wet as well as dry roads in the first week I owned the truck with them and felt they were average at best. In addition they are 32” tires which looks silly on all the Rams especially the ORG trucks! I don’t know why they went with 32“ tires on all the 5th gens except the Rebel when many of the 4th gens came with 33’s.

It will handle the dirt a lot better than a BFG Rugged Trail will but, as mentioned before, most ORG trucks won't even see a graded fire road let alone a trail.

Smaller size = lower cost and less rotating mass. Plus if you go any larger the available C-rated and XL-rated tires goes down dramatically.

I farm in ND so my Ram does see some pretty rough roads. I have a 3/4 ton with tools and such that takes most of my abuse both towing and off-roading. I have had trouble with my 19 sitting to low and have tore some plastic covers over lines underneath from the snow and ice in the winter. So a lift and the skid plates were a must this time. I also like the load range Cs to stiffen the sidewall up some for towing. The locking diff can be handy in the winter also.
