I’m getting closer to getting a new truck and keep bouncing between the Sierra and ram 1500. I’ve built a ram online and the ram builder prices it at 48,XXX. With this being the MSRP, what price would you guys say is a good deal and what would you try to work down to. I’m in no need to rush this, I’ll be ready to pull the trigger within a year, maybe less pending on deals. This will be my first “new” truck purchase From a dealer. Below is how I built the truck. Might do trailer package, maybe another thing here or there, so the 48k CLOSE....

2020 Ram 1500 crew cab, 6’4 bed, white.
3.0L Ecodiesel
4x4
Level 1 package
Sport appearance
48,XXX

what do you think this truck could be haggled down to? Trade in would be a beat up 07 Reg cab F-150 xl 2wD...not expecting much for it. Maybe even private sale.

In my area, assuming you want rebates over financing incentives, 10k off MSRP is pretty good. It can vary but that is a good average.
Looking today for a friend I'm seeing 10k off and that 84 months at zero interest. That is as good as I'm used to seeing.

I’m in Southern California but willing to travel (far) for the right deal.

Anything less than 20% off MSRP you should walk away. If you are willing to look around a larger area (500 miles or less) you could even get more depending on inventory and how eager the dealer is to sell. I would expect in the current climate many dealers should be very hungry.
