What peak RPM’s do you see?

So I noticed a change in peak RPM on my engine over the past few weeks. I’ve had my Ram for just over a year and a half now, I’ve put 35,000 miles on it and I’d say I have a spirited driving style. For the first 33,000 miles anytime I’d get on it the truck would always shift at 5200 rpm, but recently that changed, I can now push the truck up to 5600 rpm, which is cool but also perplexed me.

So I’m curious, for those of you who rev out the Hemi what peak RPM’s do y’all see? My only guess for this change was that the motor was finally broken in 🤣

Wide open throttle it hits 6k IIRC. If you are going full throttle the change may just be that you are pushing gas pedal further.

Damn 6K? I’d like to see that! And yeah these were all full throttle

When mine had 3000 on the clock I filmed it for fun. Around 5500 rpm. 0-60 was 6.3 seconds which is quick for a big truck. I kept it 0-60 because I was afraid of the utube popo getting a speeding ticket because of filming myself breaking the law...

I think it's the learned transmission. If you drive wild for a week or so you'll start to notice it keeps you in gear slightly longer, getting closer to 6k rpm. Drive like "normal" and it'll give you the granny shifts. lol.

Before I put on bigger tires I could reliably get close to 6k rpm and 5.8s 0-60 runs. Now with heavy tires I'm around 6.3 or 6.4. My truck is pretty light and putting it in auto 4wd gives tons of traction. I've also noticed that 1st to 2nd full throttle shift hits around 5200rpm, while 2nd to 3rd gets you to 6k.

4-high will give you better acceleration than 4-auto.

Makes sense, I first noticed it after towing for over 700 miles, I hadn’t had a lead foot on the trip but one time I opened it up in an on-ramp and saw those higher rpm’s
