What is this part for?

Greetings . . . I just bought a new Ram 1500 a few weeks ago and this part was in the glove box. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks. (The dealer was not helpful, was very short during the buying process, so I prefer not to contact them if I can get some information here.)

If you ever remove the tailgate, it covers the plugs that you unplugged. I suspect it prevents the BCM from going nuts and sticking all kinds of messages on the dash about tailgate ajar and camera not found and so on.
