Hi! I was changing the oil on my 2019 1500 Long Horn for the first time and I noticed these. They are attached to each side of the front frame and have a tapped hole in the middle. I would like to put a hitch on the front of my vehicle and was wondering if they could be used for this purpose. Thanks in advance for any help.

They are for frontal crash impact so instead of the cab getting crush into your knee area this slows it down. I wouldn't put anything on them.

Think that’s where the flux capacitor goes! Oh, maybe the magnetic hover attachments. Lol. Last thing I would have expected to hear, big chunk of metal will protect my knees. Then again, I could see in my warped mind where it could alter the characteristics of a frontal crash.

I have a friend who put a screwdriver in this hole and played with it... next thing he noticed is his tranny was on the ground

So somewhat of an ejection button in there. LOL
I mean... this guy is weird... the other day, he played with a philips-head screwdriver in his belly button and his a$$ fell off... crazy stuff happens to him all the time. :D
