Weird Ticking Noise

I agree, sounds like the normal lifter noise. Is it louder on cold start then goes away once the engine warms up? If so, that might be a manifold crack/leak, but the video sounds like my truck.

It's loud when the engine starts but then gets quieter. I can still hear it, but when I start driving around and get out of my truck, it's hardly noticeable. I don't hear it from inside when driving or when starting the truck from inside. I read something where if the truck sits for a long time without starting that it would make that sound when starting up.

When I had similar in my 2015, folks on this forum had me thinking it was the hemi tick. Little did I know that the cam shaft and lifter were failing. I didn't get that figured out until the truck was out of warranty.

If you aren't sure and you want to make sure that you can get warranty work done, take it to the dealer. I took it to my trusted mechanic who misdiagnosed it. Had I swallowed my pride and taken it to the dealer, they would at least have had a record of the problem while it was under warranty.
