Weird Steering Shimmy

I have a 2019 1500 big horn crew cab 5.7, 60k miles - picked up used in February with 58k on it.

Noticed a couple weeks into ownership a weird steering shimmy that seems to happen under certain conditions, but not all the time…about once or twice a week but have gone a couple weeks at a time without it happening.

Happens when going on highway off ramps, seems to start when I start to release the wheel to exit the turn, usually between 45-60mph. I can feel the wheel start to shimmy and if I take my hand off I the wheel will wobble side to side slowly but a decent amount in both directions. It will continue as the wheel straightens out for 10 seconds or so and stops pretty quickly if I hit the brakes or slow down more. I have felt it when slowing down going straight a few times too. Never felt it at high speeds above 6. No other issues with vibrations or wobbles etc..

Front pads and rotors are brand new - made dealer change them before purchase. Also had the tires road force balanced and aligned as I initially thought balance issue. Tires are pretty new too, but we’re on the truck when I bought it- mastercraft courser hsx. A little suspicious of these as they seem like cheap tires, but not entirely convinced it’s a tire issue. I’d think it’d be all the time if that was the case.

Wondering if anyone here has had anything similar with their 5th gen as I’ve read about some of the power steering issues. Since it’s so intermittent I have a feeling trying to get this diagnosed at the dealer is going to be a nightmare. I recently went through a whole year of dealing with Chevy shake that couldn’t be diagnosed so this is a major bummer..

Have you rotated the tires? Moving the backs to the front could help eliminate or confirm a tire, as long as it isn't a problem with more than one. What tire pressures are you running?

That’s a good call I was thinking about that earlier. Running about 39-40psi.

When I did the road force balance they said the back right took a lot of weight. But wouldn’t make sense that would make the front shimmy…I was a bit worried about when that one goes on the front though.

Also this could be totally irrelevant and makes no sense to me, but it seems like the last couple times I noticed it including today I was under 1/4 tank of fuel

EDIT: Are you running stock sized wheels and tires?

Stock wheels, mastercraft courser hsx tires which I believe are not the factory tires. They were on the truck when I bought it and seem very new.
