I just detailed my Rebel that came equipped with the Black Appearance Package. I held off on the bumpers, lower fascia, etc., with the textured matte finish. What type of wax, or related products, are you using on these painted matted surfaces? I like Meguiar’s Ultimate Liquid Wax as It doesn’t leave any white residue, but the bottle states that it’s not recommended for flat or matted surfaces. Thx!

I just use a spray detailer on mine. Shining Monkey is what I am using currently.

I like using Turtle Wax spray detailer. I use it on all the black trim pieces too. It gives it a nice shine and doesn’t leave any residue.

After owning two black trucks in a row I ordered my last in silver. Keeping the black looking nice was time consuming and became in conflict with my otherwise busy schedule.

There's no better color to make any vehicle look good than black. If I would ever go back to a black vehicle, I think I found a better solution, at least for me. I had this current truck treated with Ziebart Diamond Gloss, which is some sort of ceramic coating. It takes a year before any kind of swirl marks appear, which are very few, and Ziebart renews the coating every year for free.

I'll never wax another vehicle as long as I live!

Best regards,
Dusty

I just used the Turtle Wax ICE Spray Wax on all of the textured matte surfaces, i.e., grille, bumpers, valance, etc., and it came out great. A slight sheen with no white residue. It’ll be my go-to going forward. Thanks for the recommendation Mr. Hindsight (y)

I’ve been using HD Speed polish on a porter cable, and TLC 2.0 and TLC Amp after washed (I go thru automatic car wash every week) Not my first black truck. Have a black car also. I’ve also tried f11 topcoat, chemical guys, zaino, colonite insulator wax, shine armour, I’m sure there’s a bunch more. I like the TLC the best. HD Speed really cleans up the paint nice. Not perfect, but pretty good for just zipping over with a porter cable.

Your welcome! That looks great! I’ve been using Turtle Wax ICE products for quite a few years now. Always with great results. After washing, I like to use their Seal & Shine spray, which last’s about 3 months (only one to two sprays per panel, a little goes a long way) it can be layered with the Turtle Wax ICE spray wax / detailer after every wash. The shine is amazing!

Now they have a ceramic spray too but I haven’t tried it yet.
