I thought I would post some comments about the Ram warranty as I have experienced it. I have a 2019 ram bighorn. 60K on the clock. To date I have had the back window replaced/cracked frame and leaking, anti freeze smell since new, both side view elect mirrors replaced, front shutter below radiator replaced. I was having my warranty work done at Century CDJR in Mt airy MD. Every issue I had with the truck was a fight and hassle with this dealer. (I bought the truck there)..They wanted to deny repair on all of these items. I have an extended mopar warranty, 75k miles 6 years. Ends this month. After spending a lot of time and griping, they reluctantly made the repairs. They made it difficult. Now the latest, the drivers mirror failed. The usual click and pops as they used junk plastic gears in these mirrors and they eventually fail. (and I rarely fold them). So the dealer tells me that it was damaged by outside sources? ?? Like what? This was a blatant lie as the mirror is flawless and as new. So I left quite annoyed. Called Chrysler care and got a case number and no call back. I did get the run around though between Chrysler care and Mopar.
So, to finish this story. I went to a different dealer. Criswell CJDR and talked with my Salesman Rene... I picked up my 2023 Chrysler 300C from him last November and he remembered me. Told him about the mirror debacle. He tells be if its broken we will fix it. So I go the the service dept, James greets me, checks it out and an hour later says yes its broken, we will repair it. No BS, no drama.. wtf? A different dealer makes all the difference. I will never go back to the Mt Airy location again. Anyone in MD. If your thinking Stellantis, go Criswell CDJR in Thurmont, MD. They have gentleman there!

All individually owned and operated, always check with other dealers. However, the work on warranty is the last thing any service shop wants to do, especially Stellantis. The hours rates are lower for the techs, they make less money for the effort. Also, Stellantis warranty network tends to get backed-up and has a relatively slow approval process.

The one thing besides a lack of a V8 stopping me from getting an new RAM is the future is the fear of the Stellantis dealership network. I've tried a few for super easy things, and it's always been a painful hassle. With modern vehicles being so complicated, I know I'll be in there more often in the future, and I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle. Our Toyota dealership has been a complete 180 in comparison.

I was told by my service advisor the motor replacement for my Ram would have been 20K if I was paying and 15K for warranty work. Lifetime warranty covered it. Thank you 5th Gen Forum and members for making me aware of the lifetime warranty more than 6 years ago, $3100 covered a big bill.

Just bought my first Ram and also first time I have ever bought extended warranty, 8 yrs, 85K miles. I truly hope it was a waste of money.... if not, it will probably have been worth every penny. And now that I have it, I will use the SH!t out of all parts of my truck on a daily basis (like air suspension and folding mirrors). and have no concerns about the new SST engine or whatever else comes my way. So far I am really enjoying the Rebel (haven't off roaded it yet)
