Upgrading audio, need to understand signal path

2022 Ram 1500 QC with base-6/ANC system, no HK or Alpine.

Truck is new to me & I'm charting a sound system upgrade. I'm not new to car audio but I'm new to this vehicle and need some context for planning. Specifically the signal path for adding amps etc.

So I understand I need to bypass the ANC with a specific harness - got it, all set there. Apparently the LOC to use is the PAC AP4-CH42. Have that too. Just trying to understand the signal path here.
So if using the Amppro4, that gives me line level at the headunit with F, R & Sub outputs and retains all headunit functions. So if I'm putting the amps downstream of that, why do I need the ANC bypass? The AP4 is supposed to grab the unadulterated signal from headunit before any OEM EQ curve is applied, not following that logic either - if the EQ is applied in the headunit & the AP4 is taking signal from there, where is the OEM EQ curve applied (not the tone controls, talking about the factory applied EQ)?

2nd question, for those using DSP, did you need dramatic time alignment adjustments between front door driver & dash tweeter or were they close enough to leave alone? The measurements from my nose to both locations are really close.

Thanks!
