Officially a member of the unresponsive screen club. 😔.2019 Ram 1500 Laramie, build date 05/18. Owned the truck since fall of 2023. I must love Dodge as this is my third Ram truck. First issue with screen started last year but resolved itself within a couple of days and a few battery resets. This winter, problem has become more prevalent. Currently am stuck with being unable to turn off the seat warmers and heated steering wheel as they come on automatically in cold weather, as well as not able to access anything else on the screen. Thank God the engineers at least have the foresight to put climate control buttons separately otherwise it would be a complete disaster.. Screen flickers on and off without apparent rebooting but screen is unresponsive. Battery disconnect and fuse removal don't fix the issue. Nothing plugged into USB ports.
First question, how am I able to tell if my system is Uconnect 4 or 5? Was able to get into the dealer settings screen before it locked up and pictures are attached. Second, how do you perform a soft reset? Holding the tuner and power buttons does not seem to do anything as when releasing them, the radio just powers off. Tried the phone and voice command button press with door open and close afterwards with the same result. Lastly does anyone know what the current version is for the
software, going to the Uconnect site says my software is up to date but I don't know if that is accurate. I'm unsure if this one is able to get OTA updates or if it's on the stick. Thanks in advance.

Based on your Information screen and the age of the truck model year.
You have a Uconnect 4, 12-inch Nav radio system.
You are running a Canadian system software, the current version loaded - LR-35.31.0 xxxx.
You will need to locate the proper Canadian software update. There are different systems for the US and Canadian systems, and they are not interchangeable.
I have a US truck; my knowledge is similar, but not directly applicable.
Many years ago, when I got my Nuesed truck, I was having major problems with the radio. I was able to find a source of the update files on the internet. That source has been forced to close due to RAM getting mad and shutting it down.
So that source is most likely gone for the Canadian radios as well.
Your best potential source is another user that has the Canadian based system and has the knowldge and of course, your local dealer. You will have to pay a diagnostic fee and then the labor to install the software. It may not be a software problem at all, based on the sudden start of your problems/symptoms.
Maps can be purchased/updated via the website - they will send you a USB stick that is VIN-locked to your truck; you can't share your stick with another truck.

You could try a hard reset - please understand that this will cause other potential problems with the truck - proceed with caution and read about this procedure elsewhere on this website/internet sources before execution.
It basicly invloves disconnecting the battery for about 30 or so minutes, then reconnecting the battery.
You will lose all of your settings, but most of those will return in about 24 hours, so long as your truck has a clear view of the sky and good cell phone coverage. For example, your HVAC may act weird - mine acted funky when I changed my battery about a year ago, and was better the next morning. Your situation will most likely vary as to what settings will be weird/non-functional until they reset.
This step may not fix your problems if they are hardware failures.
It is possible that you have a combinantion of software and hardware problems that are occurring at the same time.

Good luck.
