For you uconnect 5 owners with the factory integrated navigation, does it show the traffic flows when you’re driving?
My uconnect 4 navigation showed me if traffic was green, yellow or red but my uconnect 5 doesn’t seem to do so.
I hope what i said makes sense?? TIA!

Yes, mine does.

It didn't at first, but after I did a soft reset/reboot using the power button/knob it has worked since.

interesting.. was it a one time thing for you or has it occurred on multiple occasions??

Like Av1, mine didn't work for a month after I bought it, an update and hard reset and it has worked since. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to show, I assume it is just connecting and downloading the current info.

I like Waze. Pops up automatically on CarPlay and works perfect. I especially like the police alerts since I do a lot of freeway driving. Almost like having a free built in radar detector. Been very accurate with warning of them ahead.

I stopped using the factory Nav after the first day. Didn’t care for it.

After my old phone made using my Google Maps impossible, I had to resort to using the factory NAV for once. And my God, it was so crappy I finally bit the bullet and bought a brand new phone so I would NEVER have to use the factory NAV again.

That stupid NAV sent me through the center of the Earth to find a location that was well known and should have been a piece of cake. I checked the system, it was set to fastest route, so no freaking excuse.

Every time I use the factory NAV, I always wonder why did it go that way. Every time I use Google Maps, I think wow, that was a better route than I expected. Besides the garbage routing, you better know the correct spelling or address you are looking for, or it won't find it. With Google, I can just say WalMart on Broadway and boom, it's got it.

I don't mean to go off on a anti-OEM NAV tangent, but I can't tell you how much I don't like using it. The only positive that came from it, was that it comes with a black gloss bezel on the 8.4" screen, which makes it look bigger than it is. It's almost worth the cost in that regards.

I guess in the unlikely event I don't have cell phone connection, it could come in handy.

I got a chuckle out of SD Rebel's review of the OEM Nav....have to agree, it is a joke. So freakin clunky to use, for instance....say you are close enough to your destination that you don't need the guidance anymore, instead of just being able to "X" out of it...you have to do a drop down box to "stop guidance"...then you have to confirm it with another touch...Google? Just hit the x....not to mention the lousy routes...

I agree using the factory Nav is a pain, but it is helpful if you regularly travel outside of cell range. I used to do a fair amount of work on the Navajo Nation and the cell coverage on the Rez is terrible. The place is just too big too cover well. When I would leave the rez, my phone would light up with missed calls, texts, and voice mails. That said, the factory Nav maps suck so it might not be a great choice either. I don't plan on continuing a Guardian subscription so my maps will never get updated again.

They wouldn't get updated even if you paid for Guardian, unless you also paid for the updates when they came out. Map updates are separate from guardian subscription

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks!
