I was watching some videos that highlight the features of the '25 RAM. After seeing some of the Uconnect 5 features and options, I question why Stellantis hasn't taken any steps to provide an upgrade for the UC4 system software. The Off-Road pages on my Rebel take forever to load and so many have complained about the Android Auto/Carplay appearance. I see the new truck is almost instantaneous loading pages. It wouldn't be hard for the developers to offer some of the appearance or capabilities offered on UC5 to us UC4 owners.

I had a 2016 Mustang that was Sync2. Ford offered a software upgrade to Sync3 which gave the older car, the newer features and appearance on the screen.

Seriously, I hate the fact that on UC4, hitting the Home button gives me a split screen and I have to select my Nav options every time. They could also give UC4 owners the multiple card option on split screen so you have more options. It should be simple developer software updating to keep things fresh and new, even for vehicles with last year's technology.

There was a significant hardware change between UC4 and UC5 as well. If you want the UC5 features that badly, you can upgrade to the UC5 display yourself. It would take more than just a software update to get everything UC5 has on your older display

No offense, but your response has no value to it. I could replace the UC4 system with an aftermarket setup that's better than UC5, also. The point I'm making is the limitations of UC4 can be easily dealt with by providing simple software upgrades. You didn't need to replace your PC hardware when Microsoft provided Windows 10 to Windows 11 options. The same can be said for Apple IOS or Android upgrades that provide a different look, feel and capability to what was available when you first got the hardware. There's plenty of processing power behind UC4 that Stellantis can offer something different than what we've had for 5 years now. No substantial upgrades have been offered. And no real fixes to complaints about the limitations, that can all be fixed with software, not hardware upsates.

Depending on your PC, you definitely had to replace hardware to be compatible with windows updates, same thing with cell phonesz which is why companies stop supporting outdated phones because the hardware doesn't support the newer features. Same with UC4 to UC5. There were hardware updates to allow many of the newer features that UC4 just can't support. Just because you don't understand that doesn't mean my reply has no value. Just means you don't understand technology enough to realize what was said

Don't understand technology? If you only knew. I know plenty of tech. I've got 30 years of advanced tech under my belt. Do you? And, you don't need to replace a PC you purchased last year because of an update in operating systems this year. A 10 year old PC maybe, but a last year UC4 versus a 1st year UC5 is close enough that some of the features implemented in UC5 can be adapted for UC4, or at least a similar version can be created. Maintaining the same look and capability with no improvements, as tech advances, is sort sighted.

Lastly, I never said that UC4 should be identical to UC5. The hardware can support software improvements that have never been implemented or even developed. The technology designed in 2019 is still far greater than what was available in 2005, so the UC4 system has room to grow, but Stallantis isn't addressing it.

UC4 Wwas developed before 2019. It's at least 7 year old tech,if not more. And sure, there are probably things they could change on it, but it's also not the current tech, and few bugs being reported. It works as intended. Why upgrade old tech when is more beneficial to Stellantis to just have you buy the current tech. Is like phones. Want the newest features, gotta buy the newest phones.
