Does anyone know how to turn off the auto play for the backseats?

My son uses the rear USB port to charge his iPhone and listens to his music with his iPods. Problem is, his phone keeps overriding what I’m doing up front, so if he closes/opens Spotify or something, I have to go back and select “Source” and change back to XM.

Data blocker like Richard said

Or buy a 'charge only' USB cable (won't pass data)

Or make him use the other USB port in the back (only one of them passes data)

Or plug his phone into the center console charge port under the armrest (assuming you have the console and not the center seat up front)

Or use the 110v outlet in the back to charge (if you have it)

Didn’t know this. I guess that’s why my other sons phone never interfered.
Yep. They're labeled with handy hieroglyphics for 'easy' identification 😆

The USB under the armrest cover towards the back also doesn't pass data and isn't too far away from where he's plugging in now, so that might work for you too
