Thinking of buying another Ram, also thinking of moving up to Limited or possibly Tungsten trim.
Why would Ram make you have Ram boxes in these trims. I have zero use for them and would likely want another topper, which makes them useless.
That said, my 2020 has been fantastic and does everything I need it to do. Still on the fence of upgrading, just researching my options.

Get a 6’4” bed if you want to get away from RamBoxes in a Limited, Limited Longhorn trim.

Reach out to Mark Dodge on a quote...they will set the pricing bar which then you can negotiate with others dealers from there.

I got 19K off MSRP on my Tungsten order via MD. They also were aggressive on my 2020 Limited trade price so I ended up trading with them.

They used a car hauler to drive the new truck here and picked up the trade to haul it back.

Good question. Makes as much sense as forcing buyers to step up to those same trim levels just to get the HO. Maybe if you wait a year Kuniskis will get Ram sorted out and offer more sensible choices.

Like a sunroof, the Ram Box was one of the features I I would not have on any Ram I owned. Unless something changes, this will be my last Ram and it's my 4th consecutive Ram. I also have no need for the HO engine.

Delivered it right to your door?? Damn, thats service!
I feel like I got a good deal on my 2020 but will definitely consider them on the next.

Forcing the Rambox on everyone who buys a Limited or Tungsten is just plain stupid. The air suspension and power side steps are also a big no for me.
The Ram boxes cut down on bed space especially when carrying bigger items. Also, there are very few bed covers available for trucks with them.
If I get a new Ram to replace my '16 Ram, it will probably be a Laramie. The Big Horn is actually fine for me as it has everything I want on it . However another stupid decision is not letting you have a power passenger seat with that model or any model with a cloth seat. They force you spend 1000's more on a Laramie if you want the power passenger seat.

They are the same width. You can't put anything wider, unless you are on top of the wheel wells. The Ramboxes add storage to is otherwise unusable space.

Kind of correct, the space between the wheel wells is the same as the boxes. Not all of us only put 4' square items in our bed, so for those instances that is space is quite usable. Sometimes I stack things over the wheel wells, or load oddly shaped items.

Before I had Ramboxes, the only thing I ever put in that little space, while hauling things like plywood, or drywall, was cans of paint, or other little items. Everything I could ever put there, fits in the Ramboxes.

Sounds like ramboxes are a good "fit" for you ;). Through the years I've moved my kids to and from school, to and from houses, hauled mulch, bikes, rocks, grills, construction supplies, blahblablah. Other than a space to toss random stuff (or stash ice and whiskey), can't say I feel ramboxes would add any more utility for me.

I haven't used them yet as coolers, although that is one of the design uses, but once I have had them, ( this is the first of my 6 Rams that does) I won't get another truck without them.

Same with the multifunction tailgate. My buddy got one a couple years ago, and I thought it wasn't necessary, but he went on about it. Have it now, and love it. Some things you can live without, until you have them, then you get spoiled.

If you don't mind saying, I would love to know what they gave for your trade and how many miles did you have on it? I also have a 20 Limited.

That is one option I actually would appreciate having. When I bought mine the dealer had a similar GT siting right next to it that had the MFT, made me consider that truck but I didn't want black.

Not trying to sound like a smart ***.. so please don’t take it that way.
Have you actually owned and used a truck with the ramboxes?
I was in your camp…gotta have all my bed, as I did with my 06 and 08 trucks. Got them on my 15 limited, won’t go without and never missed that room. You may like ‘em. I’ve moved everything you mentioned, along with 6 foot tables, BBQ boxes, pallet of lump chardcoal, bags for range day.. the divider is also outstanding. Tired of having your stuff slide forward/back, got that covered. Need to extend the tailgate. Done. As I’ve said elsewhere, no better place to put things like tow straps, jumper cables, tie downs, bottles of washer solvent… gloves, ice/snow scraper…

I have. I would say, as a cooler…and obviously, time/temp are everything…. They’re more than adequate.
Part of it is the “cool factor” when you open the side of your truck with ice/beverages.
For practicality… they’re really not very well insulated. So, for a few hours, they’re great. Party, tailgate, etc., But expecting them to be Yeti like in holding capacity… just ain’t gonna happen.
However, I’ll add… it’s super nice having drain plugs on each side to drain away the water, rather than try to scoop and move.

They work in a pinch as a cooler, but it’s easier to bring your own.
