Transmission thump

2021 Rebel with torque hemi and 8 speed AT. Used but new for me. When cold will feel like it goes into neutral between 3rd and 4th gears, then shifts abruptly with a “thump” and check engine light comes on. It “limps” in 3rd gear. When it heats up it doesn’t do it.

Welcome to the forum . I would suggest taking it to the dealer and have them check the transmission fluid level . That sounds like it might be a little low .

Not normal...and no transmission just heals itself over time.

It should be under warranty, being that it's a 2021 (mileage less than 36k?). Take it in and have it fixed.

Welcome to the forum . I would suggest taking it to the dealer and have them check the transmission fluid level . That sounds like it might be a little low .

Took it to the dealer. Transmission fluid was low. They did a transmission fluid change. It cured the issue.
