I drive my RAM with the trailer hitch installed. I don't want to disable the backup alert button when driving. Is it possible to adjust the backup sensors sensitivity or proximity?
Thanks Tim
It's a 2022 Longhorn 2500

Have idea what truck you have, but this is not normal and there is no adjustment I have ever seen.

I had a 2019 Ram 3500 and had the same issue. I turned off the back sensor till I got a B&W hitch and turned the hitch under the bumper when not in use and that worked when not in use,
I think.

You can't adjust the backup sensor sensitivity. Ranch Hand Grill Guard sells a disabling button that you put on the offending sensor/s. I use these buttons on my back bumper where I keep the hitch installed and on my front bumper with a grill guard.

Why not just pull the hitch out and put it under the seat until you need it. Eliminate one shinn cruncher that way.

I keep my trailer hitch in to help protect the truck from idiots on their cell phones. I just turn the rear censor off and watch the camera when I think I need to. 🤷‍♂️ I have to admit, it took me a few times scaring the crap out of myself to figure it out that it was that easy.

I'm too afraid of a kid hitting it at night in my neighborhood, my rear bumper is really close to the sidewalk on the driveway.

I have a wide driveway and back in off to the side so my wife can get in and out with her JL. I definitely have to be aware when walking around the end of the truck.

I probably have something similar laying about the house (equipment feet, etc.) that I could try.

Don't know what would be special about them.
