I didn't expect the handling to do so well with all the weight/length that I was carrying but I for sure was lacking power. The truck was cruising on 5th gear and 6th on occasion. When I would go up hills it would go to 3rd and 4th. No brake controller was used but I will for sure tow with my cummins from now on lol. The only reason I used the rebel this time was to go on some trails with it lol. IMG_20200525_111308_148.jpg

How close to the limit were you with that load? Think oversized tires hurt a bit?

Between power or control, I'll take control all day. Nice job.

With my enclosed trailer fully loaded with my UTV and gear, and my sons ATV in the bed, and that tall cargo trailer catching wind, the Gen 3 EcoDiesel cruises in 8th gear and only downshifts to 7th if I hit a long hill. ;) Just sayin'.

A Rebel with the EcoDiesel would be a perfect combo.

There's the difference between the ecodiesel and the hemi, a bit simplistic as far as comparing weights, % of grade, speed etc.

The ecodiesel and the Rebel both had 3.92 rear axles but the Rebel was lifted with taller/heavier tires, so whatever that reduction in gear ratio and increased rolling resistance is also affected his power. Still nothing wrong with the Rebel towing that load on occasion.

You're right on that one but after a while I would for sure invest into either an ecodiesel or a 6.7 cummins in for future.

Well each CanAm weighs about 1600 lbs and the trailer itself i imagine weighs close to 2000 lbs so that leaves me with around 3 tons including a payload of about 500 lbs(2 passengers and gear/tools). I do think the 35s hurt a bit but not a significant amount.

I remember towing with a Gen 4 Ram w/its OEM stance and 275/60R20 tires, which were about 33” in diameter. I added 2” Daystars, Fuel wheels w/35” Toyas A/T IIs, and it made a noticeable difference in towing. It increased more drag, greater rotational mass, and reduced the gear ratio. While it might not be significant, it doesn’t have to be to feel a difference, especially at the shift points.

Also, based on your pic, you can see how the lift is affecting your stance w/the trailer. Any aerodynamic properties that the truck had is out the window with a reverse rake.

Edit: BTW, nice looking truck (y)
