Towed for the first time today. I’m really impressed. Trailer is a 24 foot V-nose Featherlite with HD axles. Trailer weighs roughly 2800-3000. 500lbs of gear. One 3300lb Porsche 911 Turbo so let’s just say 7000lbs total. Sway bars on. Straight hitch (no drop). Electric brakes.

Pulled dead straight. Wind was blowing pretty well, but it wasn’t too much of an issue. When I was getting passed, ithe passing truck would pull me in slightly, but it was controllable. Passing cars were a non issue. The same situation was a white-knuckles Drive in a 2015 Yukon Denali. Not sure if it is the longer wheelbase or the standard (non air) suspension that made the difference, but it was awesome. Thanks RAM. Very Impressive indeed.

You can't beat a nice towing report with pictures. When you say no drop, do you mean no squat? Thanks for posting sir!

Strait hitch. No drop hitch. Squat was minimal. However with a 911 (motor and trans in back) I had to keep moving the car forward to get tongue weight. Thanks for the compliment.

I’ve got the exact same trailer as you only mine is 20 feet long. It is the absolute best towing trailer I have ever pulled. It’s either stuffed with 4 atvs that combined weight about 3500 pounds or two Polaris rangers. I’ve yet to pull it with my new truck but my old rig was a 2013 1500 Longhorn and it handled it with no troubles at all.

That's great - I'm very relieved to hear of your experience. I've been stressing about my upcoming "first tow" in April. I have to transport my car to service (250 miles each way). I have a somewhat similar set up....20' ATC Raven (2500lbs), 500lbs for winch / gear/ etc, car weights approx 3300 lbs. So approx 6300 lbs. Just traded in a '17 Superduty with the hopes of being able to get it done with this Ram. I was planning to use my Husky Centerline WDH. Are your sway bars part of a WDH or independent?

I had to laugh at myself. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw your caption was that you had to get your truck towed!!! :ROFLMAO:

Sway bars are part of the WDH. You should be fine man. This thing is a step ahead of everything else I have towed with short of my 05' 2500 Cummins.

I've never used a wdh towing car trailers. That's either half, three quarter or one ton trucks. I'm dragging a 20 footer with this truck. 7,000-7,500 lbs. Tows fine. It sucks gas like crazy. I'll go through a bunch heading to Michigan with it in May.

I averaged 10 mpg towing. 17-19 unloaded. I am 2wd though.

I'm towing the car back with an open trailer today. Should be interesting to see the difference. I'll post pictures later. :)

I hand calculated on my trip to Bradenton. I filled up before I left and then filled up near the track. 9.41 mpg was the #. I didn't check on the return trip because I really didn't need to fill it. My Ecoboost F150 got similar mpg. I'll be curious how it tows though the Carolina / Tennessee hills. The F150 pulled pretty decent in the hills. I'm thinking this won't be as peppy and it'll be hanging above 3000 rpm a lot.

This was my old trailer hooked up to the Ford .

So with the open trailer... it was a complete non issue. Dead straight. No pull in from the trucks. I had more weight on the tongue this time. Standard non WDH. No bars. No concerns. Trailer is supposedly 1500 lbs as it’s a 20 ft steel flatbed with a tilt mechanism. Electric Brakes. Averaged 12.5 mpg but let’s just say I was going a little faster as well with the open trailer vs the enclosed. Here are some pics.
