New Rebel owner. 2025. Why are the front tires inflated to 55 and the rear only 45?

In an "empty" truck there is much more weight on the front wheels than on the back, so they need more air. If you put 55 in the back it will bounce around too much and give bad ride quality. You can put more air in the back tires when you have more weight over the back wheels (load / trailer).

It is strictly for fuel economy. I run 38/32 like a normal truck. The ride and handling, not to mention rain and snow traction, are much better in this range.

Most of us run lower pressures. I run 48/40 on E rated tires, but yes I would not recommend running equal pressures front and rear. Back end will bounce all over the place.

How do I get the tpms to not throw a warning at your recommendation?

AlfaOBD can change the parameters for your tire pressure. About $100 plus bucks for the gear and you can do some other cool things with it too. Search for it and you'll find a lot of info. I used it to run fogs without headlights and a few other things. It's also a great diagnostic tool. Good luck!

Rebel tire pressures are due primarily of the Duratrac 33" tires they all come with. Due to the construction and ply rating, it makes them unique compared to any other tire that's on a RAM 1500, so much so they even imprinted the tire tread on the seat covers, which I found interesting as a Rebel owner.

The 55/45 rating has been there since 2018 and has never changed for a reason. I would adjust it yourself to see how you feel, but I personally have dropped down and tried various combinations and have gone back to the 55/45 stock rating, at least with stock Duratracs. Again, it may not be for you in your type of environment and driving.

I have BF Goodrich KO2's 35's, I run what BF Goodrich suggests. I actually messaged them on FB mess when I got the KO2's in 2022 & they messaged me right back with the proper inflation.

I believe AlphaOBD doesn't work on 25+ yet, last I seen.
