Stopped into the dealer today to discuss values etc. and have a potential deal on offer (depends on a dealer trade) I trade my 2019 BH with level 2 and 20,000 with 5-pass seating and lease a 2021 Laramie with Level 1 (built before the chip shortage so has BSM) with a 6-pas front bench. No money in and my payment drops $10/month. I was going to wait out my lease and factory order a 2022 spec'd exactly how I want it but this deal seems to good to pass up and I am thinking if the market simmers down and I can order a 2022 in a year with my exact options the Laramie will likely be as good or better on value than my current truck right? I think I am just hung up on the 6 pass seating - like the idea of an extra seat once a year when it is helpful but think I'll miss the big storage compartment.

1 question for the group - does the Laramie with level 1 pkg have heated rear seats?

It does not have rear heated seats, that I am aware.

No, the Laramie Level 1 package does not include heated second row seats. You need to step up to the Laramie Level 2 package to get those.

I don't know. Sure, your payment remains the same. The Laramie is a bit nicer. But really, you already have a few years of payments under your belt.

Do you intend to pay it off and keep it? If not, why not just lease and call it good?

For me, I prefer to get rid of the payment as soon as I can and drive a vehicle till the wheels fall off. The only one I never paid off was my 2020 Rubicon that I sold and got the Ram instead. That was simply because I changed my mind (and knew I would have a $100k jeep worth $20k when I finished with upgrades 🙄 ).

I had my language wrong in the original post - my 2019 is a lease that ends in April 2022 and the deal on the Laramie is a lease as well. I was already planning to start a new lease when the current one ends so I am basically just doing that sooner to take advantage of the equity in the crazy market right now. I used to drive them till they died but I've decided I like the lower monthly payment of a lease with the option to by and always having a nice truck under warranty etc.

I'm driving myself insane waiting to hear back from the dealership if they are able to make the trade! Maybe I am an idiot for not just going to the dealer that has the truck to make the deal - I am a bit old fashioned and hoped to work with my local dealer that treated me right on my last 2 trucks.

I can relate! My local dealership did a trade for the 2021 Limited I bought 3 weeks ago. I was the one who found it on a dealer lot that's about a 3 hour drive from my house. I was hoping to avoid the drive as well as support my local business. My sales rep informed me that the other dealership had someone coming to look at the truck that night, and would let me know if it sold or not the next morning. That was one of the longest nights I've had LOL. Definitely didn't get much sleep. Long story short, I was able to make the purchase from my local dealership. Good luck with yours! I hope everything works out for you like it did for me.

If you’re leasing now and plan on leasing again anyway then YEAH that sounds like a great deal!! If you really end up wanting the console you can buy one online for about $900 and install it yourself, it doesn’t look overly complicated. You might even be able to recoup some of the money if you sold the middle seat as well. I’d do it if I were you :)

Dealer trade went through so I'm heading over today to try and make the deal. They are currently about $6,000 under MSRP or about $2,000 under invoice but that is with incentives (not sure which they have used yet). I am hoping to get them down another 1,000-2,000 and have them do a spray-in liner and rear wheelhouse liners... wish me luck!

What trim? If a BH and they are only $2000 under invoice after rebates that isn't a great deal (especially if that includes all rebates and does not include 0%).

Laramie with Level 1 (pre-chip shortage), Anti-slip, trailer brake controlled and 20" wheels

Congrats on the new truck! Be sure to post pics after you take delivery.

That’s amazing dude congrats!
Got the deal done today and will pick-up the truck tomorrow. Ended up at 15% off MSRP plus $7,000 in equity from my 2019 BH so out the door for approx $40,000 on $56,358 MSRP. I also got them to add a spray-in bed liner. Thanks for the advice and encouragement!
