Hello everyone. Been doing some research on here and my local dealerships before going to test drive. Currently have a 16 xlt f150. I am deciding on making the switch to the other side lol. I like 2 different models of the truck. Just wanting to get some likes, dislikes, tips, advice on current owners. I am looking at the rebel and Laramie models. Been seeing some great deals on the rams around my area with almost 20 percent off msrp. Any previous ford owners on here?

Welcome to the forums. There is SO much info on this site, you just need to do some searching and you will get alot of info. Try searching for "ford owner" and do some research because so many people have contributed on here so the history is your best bet.

I had a 15’ F150 xlt, Supercab 6.5, 4x4. This redesigned RAM is superior in every way. Now I did buy a Limited however the Laramie (equivalent to the Lariat) is way better than the Lariat as far as the cabin, fit/finish and tech (USB-C etc).
If you can swing a Ltd, now is the time to buy. I mean you will be getting a “Platinum” level truck (70K Ford)_ for $50K!
Can’t go wrong with the hemi with or w/o the etorque. Biggest decision is gears and sunroof...
Oh and our cooled seats actually work, LOL.

I looked at a 43K Rebel. I really liked it. gotta say though, it road like ****. Didnt notice how bad until I drove a Big Horn. never looked at the laramie oddly enough.

I know you didn’t like the Rebel ride, $43 isn’t too bad a price, though you can get a Ltd for $48 at several dealers.
Now some Laramie owners don’t like the Ltd grill and std air suspension, so review the option packages and looks carefully, as a loaded Laramie is sometimes more expensive than a “basic” Ltd... I have a “basic” Ltd, meaning no level 1 option (HK stereo and safety package for $3K) but I have pano and 22’s, as well as 4x. All depends on your color likes, sport hood, grill, blackout vs chrome, fixed side steps vs power, that sort of thing.

Former 3.5 EcoBoost owner, and this Ram just blows Ford away on comfort and refinement!

Former Raptor owner here and have a Rebel now. The Rebel suspension is one inch higher than the other Gen V's and comes standard with Bilstein shocks. I find the suspension to be really good. It's firm but I like the road feel.

I came from a 2015 Ford F-150 3.5EB XLT 4x4 and now own a 2019 Ram Laramie 4x4. Below are some of my thoughts trying to ignore trim level differences.

  • Ram is quieter and smoother, hands down!
  • 3.5EB feels faster off the line and gets the overall power edge, however the 5.7 Hemi is great. No regrets here!
  • Ram interior storage is incredible, they make usable space out of everything.
  • UConnect trumps Sync 3. While I have had minor glitches with UConnect, I have driven 3 different 2019 Fords while my F-150 is in the shop and they all had connection issues and slow start ups. The loaner Ranger I have sometimes has not booted up Sync while I am already driving.
  • 3.5EB gas mileage is nowhere near the ratings, but still averaged 17mpg and I'm at 15mpg with the Ram. Ram is doing as expected, no surprises.
  • Ram is easier to park and maneuver. I found this a pleasant surprise in my tight town-home parking lot.
  • The Ram OEM runnings boards feel sloppy, the F-150 are very solid
  • The Ram has slightly heavier steering feel, but I have no preference between the two trucks.
  • The seats are firmer in the Ram but comfortable. Could be dependent on trim as well.

Now the Laramie trim has some amazing features as well that I love but I do not feel it is fair to compare to my Ford XLT. Against a Lariat? the Ram Laramie crushes it when you look at features and dollars spent. I am very happy with my Ram purchase!

Hopefully my Ram outlasts my 51k mile F-150 that has been in the shop 2 months waiting on parts....

Echo what others have said. If you live in a climate that has 90+ temps, please let the vehicle sit in the sun for a while and then test drive it. See how the A/C performs for you, many folks including myself do not feel it's acceptable. I came from a 2018 F-150 Platinum and the A/C was great, wife just bought a 2019 Honda Pilot which is also great. The RAM is sub par.

What is your build date? Y’all have me worried that my AC isn’t going to cut it when I move back to Florida but it feels fine all of the time right now.

Awesome stuff. I’m excited to test drive this weekend.
