Thinking about a 2019 Ram 1500?

I've been looking at getting a truck for the past couple of months, and I'm really liking the new Rams. I had initially considered a Tahoe, but the utility of a truck just seems unbeatable.
I'm wondering what the general consensus is on the new trucks to help me make a decision. I also looked at the Tundra and while I liked it, the body style is aging and I wasn't thrilled with the interior material selections even on the platinum model (felt plastic-y). Some of the things that I like about the Ram:
  1. It gives up payload/towing capacity in favor of comfort (coil sprints + air suspension). I'll use the truck to tow a ski boat/lawnmower, haul mulch and trash (but not anything obscenely heavy), and I would be well within the capacities.
  2. It's super quiet inside.
  3. It has a pretty incredible stereo system, and the big screen in the center stack is pretty cool.
  4. The center console is hilariously huge...and awesome. Tons of space and I can see some of the the features they have built-in being super handy. The cab would be a 2nd office since I spend a significant amount of time on the road and drive between a couple of different buildings for work that are on opposite sides of town.
  5. It looks and feels like a luxury car inside - it's a really nice place to sit.
  6. It has a V8 - yeah the Ecoboost is faster/more powerful but a V8 sounds really nice and the Hemi has plenty of power for my application. Dumb reasoning, I know, but hey, I like it!
Is there something glaring that I'm not considering for my use case? I like the big-ness (I'm a big guy) so although something like a Tacoma would probably suit 100% of my needs from a utility perspective, I don't really want to give up the niceties for a couple MPG gain.

I agree 100% with u. I had a 2013 Ram. It was the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned. I just bought a 2020 Ram Bighorn 3 weeks ago. I love it. I've watched hundreds of You Tube videos about trucks before I bought this one. Ram has the best interior by far. Also if your comparing middle trim levels, the 5.7 Hemi can't be beat. Sure the 6.2 from GM is better, or the 3.5 from Ford, but then u have to spend $65k. I got a Big Horn level 2 with LED lights & night edition for $41k. I can have around 1,700 lbs of payload, & can tow over 11,000 lbs with the 3.92 gears. That's pretty darn good. All I really tow is a 6×12 enclosed trailer for work, but it's nice to have the capability to do more if needed. If this truck is as dependable as my 2013 was, I will be a customer for life!

6' 1" 230 lbs. - Tacoma, looks great, reviews great all +++++, might as well be sitting in a Honda Civic. I've looked at the Tacomas several times, as soon as I sit in it I walk away. Ram - as soon as I got in it I was in love, didn't drive 100 feet and I knew this was it.
I was actually looking at Fords due to mpg and all the Ford hoopla. Just didn't do it for me. Kinda like the girl you should stay with but it just isn't there.
Buying the Ram was the best thing I did for myself vs all those family decisions. Happy every time I get in it. The only problem is looking to find a reason to drive it and this forum with the mods. If you do buy a Ram don't do any mods for a while, these forum guys can really get you going.
