Thermostat gone wild

My "outside temp" is showing at 185 degrees. This is severely affecting the hvac systems, especially when they're on "auto". This also triggered an engine light. I'm thinking I have a bad thermostat.

Anyone else have this problem?

wow keep us updated. Are you bringing this in to the dealer?

Yep.... Dealer plugged it in and confirmed it's the thermostat. Bringing it in Thursday for replacement. Hopefully, just a fluke.

Update...
easy fix. The technician found 1 bent pin on the ambient temp sensor. Slight adjustment and good to go!
