Tailgate release?

Has anyone added the tailgate release?
Do i need a module or just a remote with the button?
I do’t want the upper console button

Just buy a new FOB with it. Have the FOB programmed to the truck. And that's it.

That depends on how your truck was shipped. For mine I just needed the fob and programing. Tailgate was already configured properly

This is great! Just got my truck yesterday and this will be an early addition. Anyone have a suggestion on trusted site for keyfob?

Seems like some are OEM and have a logo while others are aftermarket and do not. I'm hoping for one with the logo. Thanks.

I bought an aftermarket one off eBay for like $40 has worked good. I also use the AJT case so no logo wasn't a concern. I did have to modify the AJT case slightly due to small difference on the circuit board for aftermarket fob.

I ordered a fob. Will figure out whether I want to gather the tools myself to program or pay someone. It's just one fob, the other stays with my wife and the 3rd will go in the safe. The gate release one will stay with me since she'll never use that function. I like using those functions, but my wife will roll the groceries out to her SUV with the key fob in her hand and still not use the fob to open the back gate.
