Tailgate problem

My new truck has a tailgate that will not close? Any ideas, I’ve tried leaving fob inside to no avail ?

2019 Ram laramie , powered tailgate that will not allow me to close it. I've tried not having fob around and closing it , same result. New to this ,sorry for poor explanation, just a little upset that i'm having problems with only 2000 miles on the truck.

You mean it won't show locked or you physically cannot lift it up to close it. Still have no idea what your trying to tell us.

Does ram make a self closing tailgate, mines not ,
I'm physically trying to close it

Sounds like his latches (which are electronically actuated) aren't latching shut. Try pressing the button on the tailgate, key fob, and inside the truck to see if your latch is stuck for some reason

No, Ram does not. You have to physically close your tailgate. Ram makes tailgates that open on there own but does not close on there own.

The tailgate has an easy dampened open feature, unlike the new Chevy, it does not automatically lift and close. You must manually close it.

Yet its aluminum construction makes it very easy to close manually.
