Tailgate handle replacement

Has anyone tried to upgrade their tailgate handle to body color? Does anyone know about?.....instructions? Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

I was also looking into this since I’ve removed several pieces of chrome. Placed several emails out to parts departments about what’s needed and have not heard a peep back.

Not sure how far I want to take all this "chrome delete" mission. I somewhat like the little chrome on the back and do not want to cause more problems if the handle is that difficult to replace. Please keep us posted if the parts department gives you any info.

Will do but I can’t imagine it will be that difficult to swap out handles. I’ve done more with less lol.

Just bought the ivory 3coat tailgate handle through Josh@ avondale. Will let you know how hard it is to replace when I receive. With pics... lol. It really is sad.....the parts departments in my area (South Florida) are not that helpful. Shout out to Accountant....Josh was on point as usual.

That’s great! Yeah his price shipped is often cheaper than buying local lol. Is the piece where the camera hole is also color matched? My stock handle is color matched but the camera piece is chrome.

Based upon the read, this won’t be a difficult job in the least. I may buy it just in case I change my mind and go Billet silver back there.

Hopefully it is easy. So far most of my mods have had some snag. Most having to do with those dang plastic clips that are everywhere LOL

If anyone thinks of doing this project. 15 minute easy install. Suggestion, take 4 screws out of existing hardware on tailgate and just switch the "guts" to the new handle. Worked like a champ. Good mod for under $100

I just completed this project. When I removed my tailgate liner, there was a half-used roll of masking tape in there. Are you freaking kidding me?!!

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I just tried to install my ivory handle from Josh on my limited and the camera hole was much smaller and my camera wouldn't fit. Before I contact Josh, am I missing something??

The one I ordered from Josh to match my Billet silver the hole was too large and my camera had no way of staying secured. I ended up having my oem painted all Billet silver and reinstalled that.
